Why a check-and-stop valve
In compressor discharge lines the SCA-X replaces a separate check valve and stop valve, which saves a joint, a pipe length and potential leak points. Service staff can close the spindle to isolate the compressor while the plant continues to run, while the check keeps hot gas or oil from flowing back during standstill.
The valve is a member of the SVL Flexline family, so the same top-cover and seat spare parts apply across stop, check and regulating bodies. The data sheet (SCA-X and CHV-X) gives dimensions and Kv values for all sizes up to 125 mm.
Installation and ordering checks
Mount so that the arrow on the body matches the gas flow, with the spindle upright or at an angle. Weld per the installation guide, protecting the seat and the cap seal from heat, and open fully during commissioning so the check can operate freely.
Check that you want the angleway pattern; a straightway SCA-X or CHV-X has a different code. Confirm refrigerant, oil and the Schedule 80 connection standard before ordering. The stainless SCA-X SS series is a separate range.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
