Lorch V 30 AC/DC TIG Welding Machine

Description

Mobile AC/DC TIG system for aluminium and steel fabrication

The Lorch V 30 AC/DC is a three-phase TIG welding machine from the Lorch V series, built as a mobile compact system on wheels. The AC/DC version welds aluminium with alternating current and steel, stainless steel and other metals with direct current; MMA welding with electrodes up to 6 mm is also standard. With a 300 A maximum and 250 A at 100% duty cycle, it sits in the middle of the V series, between the V 27 and the V 40.

Lorch uses its “3 steps to weld” operating concept on the V series: the user selects the process and parameters through illuminated symbols that follow the welding sequence, reads current and voltage on a digital display and sets the current infinitely. A pulse function, a remote control connection and the Tiptronic job memory for 100 welding tasks are included in the standard control.

Selecting between the V 30 and its neighbours

The wheeled V 30 suits workshops that weld aluminium and stainless steel at medium to high currents, for example tanks, frames and pipework, and need a water-cooled torch for long welds. The V 30 mobil delivers the same maximum current in a lighter portable housing on a 16 A supply, which is useful for site work. Where currents above 300 A or thicker aluminium are common, the V 40 or V 50 provide more continuous output.

In AC TIG welding, the balance between electrode-positive and electrode-negative time controls how much oxide is removed from aluminium and how much heat goes into the work, so an AC/DC machine with stored jobs helps keep these settings consistent between welders and shifts. For steel-only work, the DC system is the simpler choice.

Before installation, confirm that a 32 A three-phase socket is available and that the torch rating matches the planned duty cycle.

About brand
Lorch Schweißtechnik is a German welding equipment manufacturer based in Auenwald, Germany, and the company was founded in 1957. It builds MIG-MAG, TIG and electrode welding machines for manual work as well as cobot and automated welding solutions. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and lists the Lorch S8 SpeedPulse XT MIG-MAG pulse welding machine. Lorch product range The MIG-MAG program includes the S, P, R, MX, iQS and MicorMIG series, with separate wire feeders such as the MF-10 full-protection feeder. Lorch also offers TIG and MMA inverters, Powermaster torches, the Lorch Connect monitoring system and cobot welding packages. Its Speed processes, including SpeedPulse XT, SpeedArc XT and the optional SpeedRoot and SpeedCold upgrades, are designed to raise welding speed and reduce spatter. Ordering Lorch welding machines: what we need State the series and model, the machine version (compact or separate wire feeder), gas or water cooling and the mains voltage at site. Add the hose package length, torch type and any process upgrades you need. For replacements, send the rating plate photo.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the welding range of the Lorch V 30 AC/DC?
TIG welding from 3 A to 300 A and MMA welding from 20 A to 250 A with electrodes of 1.5 mm to 6.0 mm.
What is the duty cycle of the V 30 in AC mode?
Lorch lists 250 A at 100% and 300 A at 60% duty cycle for both DC and AC on the V 30.
Which mains connection does the V 30 need?
Three-phase 400 V, 50/60 Hz, with plus/minus 15% tolerance, a 32 A fuse and a CEE 32 plug.
Can the V 30 store welding parameters?
Yes. The Tiptronic job memory stores up to 100 welding tasks.
Is there a portable version of the V 30?
Yes. The V 30 mobil is a portable compact system with a roller set, weighing about 31 to 37 kg, with the same 3 A to 300 A TIG range.
