Brand:

Lorch S8 SpeedPulse XT MIG-MAG Pulse Welding Machine

Description

500 A pulse MIG-MAG machine from the Lorch S series

The Lorch S8 SpeedPulse XT is the largest model in the Lorch S series, with a MIG-MAG welding range of 25 A to 500 A. It runs the Lorch SpeedPulse XT process as standard, together with TwinPuls XT, SpeedArc XT, Pulse and synergic standard MIG-MAG programs. Electrode welding is available on all S series systems, and TIG with ContacTIG ignition is part of the equipment list.

Lorch describes SpeedPulse XT as a pulse arc whose control reacts quickly in every pulse phase, so the welder can influence the arc by changing the distance between torch and workpiece. The S series operates with both mixed gas and CO₂.

Operation and process options

The XT control uses Lorch’s three-steps-to-weld concept: select the process and synergic line, set the current and weld. Dynamic control lets the welder set the arc from soft to hard for Synergic, SpeedArc XT and SpeedPulse XT. Arc length can be set separately for the start, welding and end phases, and the Tiptronic memory stores 100 welding jobs that can be recalled at the machine or from a Powermaster torch.

SpeedRoot, SpeedCold and SpeedUp are optional process upgrades. The standard cooling unit is rated at 1.1 kW; with the separate wire feeder (B) version, Lorch offers boosted 1.5 kW cooling and a version with a larger pump for long interconnection hose packages of 20 m and over.

Choosing the right S8 configuration

Lorch builds the S series as a compact system with integrated wire feeder (A), a separate wire feeder system (B), and double-feeder versions (AB and BB). Choose B when the welder needs to work away from the power source; Lorch quotes a working range of up to 25 m with the hose package. All wire feeder systems come with a 1 m interconnection hose package; longer lengths are options.

The installation needs a three-phase 400 V supply with a CEE 32 socket. For continuous production welding, size the job against the 400 A rating at 100% duty cycle.

About brand
Lorch Schweißtechnik is a German welding equipment manufacturer based in Auenwald, Germany, and the company was founded in 1957. It builds MIG-MAG, TIG and electrode welding machines for manual work as well as cobot and automated welding solutions. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and lists the Lorch S8 SpeedPulse XT MIG-MAG pulse welding machine. Lorch product range The MIG-MAG program includes the S, P, R, MX, iQS and MicorMIG series, with separate wire feeders such as the MF-10 full-protection feeder. Lorch also offers TIG and MMA inverters, Powermaster torches, the Lorch Connect monitoring system and cobot welding packages. Its Speed processes, including SpeedPulse XT, SpeedArc XT and the optional SpeedRoot and SpeedCold upgrades, are designed to raise welding speed and reduce spatter. Ordering Lorch welding machines: what we need State the series and model, the machine version (compact or separate wire feeder), gas or water cooling and the mains voltage at site. Add the hose package length, torch type and any process upgrades you need. For replacements, send the rating plate photo.
