Brand:

Lorch MicorMIG 500 MIG/MAG Welding Machine with Wire Feeder Case

Description

500 A MIG/MAG power source for heavy fabrication

The Lorch MicorMIG 500 is the largest machine in the Lorch MicorMIG range. It is aimed at heavy steel and aluminium fabrication where spray-arc welding with 1.2 mm to 1.6 mm wire, long fillet welds and multi-layer joints are routine. Lorch builds it as an A system with the feeder integrated in the power source, or, as pictured, as a B system in which the wire drive sits in a separate case on top of the machine.

The detachable case can be lifted off and carried to the joint, so the welder does not need a long torch to reach the far end of a large component. Lorch lists MIG/MAG, MMA, TIG and gouging in the series process table, with some processes standard on certain models or available as options.

Controls and job memory

Three operating concepts are offered. The Basic panel gives a digital display of amps and volts with three arc dynamic steps. With BasicPlus, a synergic function sets the voltage automatically from the wire feed, the arc dynamics have seven steps, and the trigger modes include interval and spot welding. ControlPro, the top panel, has an OLED graphic display, menu guidance, 21 dynamic steps and Tiptronic storage for 100 jobs, which helps repeat a qualified parameter set on every shift.

Planning a MicorMIG 500 installation

At 500 A, a water-cooled torch is normally the practical choice for continuous production, so the cooling module should be included in the set. Check the torch, earth cable and interconnection cable against the expected current. The 32 A three-phase supply is the same as on the smaller MicorMIG models, which keeps site wiring uniform across a mixed fleet. When the feeder case is moved away from the power source, plan the interconnection hose length and its strain relief so that the hose is not dragged over sharp edges.

If the workload rarely exceeds 300 A, the MicorMIG 400 offers the same 1.6 mm wire capability in a lighter 61 kg power source. For pulsed aluminium or stainless welding, the MicorMIG Pulse series is the matching Lorch range.

Documents and quotation

The attached Lorch datasheet lists all four MicorMIG models, their control panels and the A and B system versions. When asking for a quotation, give the system version, control panel, torch cooling, hose and cable lengths and the wire to be used. Related machines are listed under MIG/MAG welding machines.

About brand

Lorch Schweißtechnik is a German welding equipment manufacturer based in Auenwald, Germany, and the company was founded in 1957. It builds MIG-MAG, TIG and electrode welding machines for manual work as well as cobot and automated welding solutions. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and lists the Lorch S8 SpeedPulse XT MIG-MAG pulse welding machine.

Lorch product range

The MIG-MAG program includes the S, P, R, MX, iQS and MicorMIG series, with separate wire feeders such as the MF-10 full-protection feeder. Lorch also offers TIG and MMA inverters, Powermaster torches, the Lorch Connect monitoring system and cobot welding packages. Its Speed processes, including SpeedPulse XT, SpeedArc XT and the optional SpeedRoot and SpeedCold upgrades, are designed to raise welding speed and reduce spatter.

Ordering Lorch welding machines: what we need

State the series and model, the machine version (compact or separate wire feeder), gas or water cooling and the mains voltage at site. Add the hose package length, torch type and any process upgrades you need. For replacements, send the rating plate photo.
