Brand:

Yokogawa GP10 / GP20 Portable Touch Screen Paperless Recorder

Description

A portable paperless recorder for commissioning, trials and temporary logging

The Yokogawa GP20 and GP10 are portable versions of the SMARTDAC+ touch-screen recorders. They share the measurement modules, software and file formats of the panel-mount GX series but come in a benchtop case with a carrying handle and a power cord, which makes them the practical choice for plant trials, commissioning, temperature surveys, furnace validation and temporary monitoring where cutting a panel is not an option. Data is stored in internal memory (500 MB, or 1.2 GB on the GP20 large-memory type) and on an SD card, and the 5.7-inch (GP10, 640 x 480) or 12.1-inch (GP20, 800 x 600) resistive touch screen supports flick, pinch and swipe operation.

Up to 100 channels are measured on the standard type and up to 500 on the large-memory type with expandable I/O (the GP10 reaches 100 analog channels and the GP20 450 with expandable I/O). Each channel can be set to DC voltage, thermocouple, RTD, DI or DC current.

Modules, functions and connectivity

The GP series accepts four module types: analog input, digital input, digital output and digital input/output. The GP10 takes up to 3 modules and the GP20 up to 10, with up to six expandable I/O units connected for remote wiring. Typical printed accuracy for the analog module is plus or minus (0.01 percent of reading + 5 microvolts) on the 20 mV range and plus or minus (0.02 percent of reading + 0.2 C) for Pt100, with module datasheet GS 04L53B01-01EN giving the guaranteed values.

Functions include trend, digital, bar-graph and overview displays, an alarm summary, freehand messages, calendar search of past data, scale movement on the trend, report output to PDF or Excel files (with the /MT math option), direct output to a network printer, and a web application for setup. Ethernet gives email notification, web monitoring, FTP transfer and Modbus/RTU and Modbus/TCP communication. Options include RS-232 (/C2), RS-422/485 (/C3), VGA output (/D5), EtherNet/IP (/E1), WT communication (/E2), advanced security for Part 11 (/AS), fail output (/FL), log scale (/LG) and USB host (/UH).

Model code and ordering

The model is GP10 or GP20, type -1 (standard, up to 100 channels) or -2 (large memory, up to 500 channels), display language E, a power supply code (1 for 100 V AC or 240 V AC) and a power cord code: D for UL/CSA, F for VDE, R for the Australian standard, Q for BS, H for GB or N for the Brazilian NBR standard. Analog input modules are specified in the main code as /UC (clamp terminal) or /US (M3 screw terminal) with 10 to 50 channels, and digital I/O modules as /CR codes such as /CR01 (16 inputs) or /CR21 (12 outputs and 16 inputs). Several module combinations have footnote restrictions, so confirm the complete code before ordering.

Installation and what to confirm before ordering

The GP10 measures 144 x 168 x 197 mm (248 mm deep with modules) and weighs about 1.9 kg; the GP20 measures 288 x 318 x 197 mm (248 mm with modules) and weighs about 5.4 kg, both excluding modules. Supply is 100 to 240 V AC, ambient operating temperature is 0 to 50 C and humidity 20 to 80 percent RH. Confirm the channel count and sensor types, the scan interval, whether remote expandable I/O is needed, the power cord standard for the destination and any Part 11 requirement. The attached file is the Yokogawa general specification GS 04L52B01-01EN. The panel-mount GX10/GX20 and the GM10 modular logger are listed in controllers and data acquisition. How the Yokogawa GP20 works

Input modules measure the signals from thermocouples, RTDs, voltage and current sources. The recorder stores each value in memory and on an SD card and draws it on the touch screen. The data can be read over the network or copied from the card.

About brand

Yokogawa instruments are ordered by model and suffix code, a string such as EJX110A followed by option characters that fix span, materials and approvals. Founded in 1915 and headquartered in Tokyo, Yokogawa makes field instruments, process analyzers and the CENTUM control system used in refineries, gas plants and power stations.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier listing Yokogawa pressure transmitters, flowmeters, temperature transmitters, analyzers and CENTUM I/O modules for users in Oman and the GCC.

Yokogawa product families on this page

Pressure is covered by the DPharp transmitters: the EJX110A differential pressure transmitter, the EJX530A and EJA530E in-line gauge pressure transmitters and the EJX910A multivariable transmitter. The ADMAG AXW is the magnetic flowmeter line, and the YTA610 and YTA710 are temperature transmitters. Analyzers include the FLXA402 four-wire and FLXA21 two-wire liquid analyzers, the TDLS8000 tunable diode laser gas analyzer and spare parts for zirconia oxygen analyzers, such as the E7042UD cell assembly kit for the ZR22 detector. Control hardware includes CENTUM VP I/O modules like the ADV161 digital input module and the YS1700 programmable indicating controller.

Where Yokogawa instruments are used

EJA and EJX transmitters measure pressure, level and DP flow throughout oil and gas, chemical and power plants. Zirconia oxygen analyzers and the TDLS8000 are used for combustion control on boilers and fired heaters. FLXA analyzers monitor pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen in water and process streams, and CENTUM modules are bought as replacements for running control systems.

Ordering Yokogawa parts: what we need

Send the model and suffix code and the serial number from the nameplate, and for CENTUM modules the style code as well. For transmitters without a code we need span, output protocol, wetted materials, process connection, housing and the approval required. For oxygen analyzer spare parts give the detector and converter models, for example ZR22G and ZR402G, and the part number.
