Measurement Principle
The VEGA VEGAPULS 64 operates on the pulse radar time-of-flight principle at 80 GHz. A focused microwave signal is emitted toward the liquid surface, reflects, and returns to the sensor; the elapsed time is measured and converted directly into an accurate level reading. Special software algorithms filter out interference caused by buildup on the antenna system, and the sensor’s high dynamic range compensates for signal attenuation from product deposits.
Because the measurement is entirely non-contact and independent of process conditions, the VEGAPULS 64 delivers exact results even with condensate, buildup, or agitators present in the vessel.
