Description
An intrinsically safe 105 dB(A) alarm sounder for Zone 0
The E2S IS-A105N is a high-output intrinsically safe alarm sounder with 105 dB(A) nominal output at 1 metre. It carries ATEX, IECEx and Ex EAC approvals for Zone 0 and FM approval for Class I Division 1 and Class I Zone 0 applications. E2S describes it as suitable for all intrinsically safe signalling applications including fire, security and process control.
Because it is intrinsically safe it is powered through a certified Zener barrier or galvanic isolator, which keeps the energy in the hazardous area below ignition level. That makes it a fit for areas where a flameproof Ex d horn is not accepted, such as Zone 0 vessel interiors and similar locations, and for loops already built around barriers.

Features and tone selection
The unit has input overload and reverse current protection, auto-synchronised sound output, and duplicate cable terminations for in and out wiring in daisy-chain installations. It can be fixed with external lugs or internal BESA-compatible positions. The datasheet tone table covers continuous, alternating, sweeping and intermittent tones, including the 1000 Hz continuous PFEER toxic gas tone and the 1200/500 Hz DIN and PFEER prepare-to-abandon tone, and custom tone configurations are available.
