E2S D1xS1F 115dB Explosion-Proof Alarm Horn Sounder
Description
A 115 dB(A) flameproof alarm horn with 64 tones and four remote stages
The E2S D1xS1F is an explosion-proof alarm horn sounder from the D1x range, with a sound output of up to 115 dB(A) at 1 metre. It has 64 selectable alarm tones (UKOOA / PFEER compliant) and four remotely selectable alarm stages, with positive or negative stage switching on DC units and automatic synchronisation when several sounders are used together. The marine-grade aluminium enclosure is Type 4/4X and IP66/67, with a threaded flameproof joint, triple cable entries, duplicated pluggable terminals and a ratchet-adjustable A4 316 stainless-steel bracket.

The 24 VDC version is described as EN 54-3 (EU and UK CPR), MED and MER compliant and UL 464 compliant for public-mode fire alarm use. Check the product manual for voltage-specific coding.
Decoding the part number
The part code is built as D1xS1 + horn type + voltage + cable entry + plug material + bracket + version + option + colour. Examples from the datasheet: F is the flare re-entrant horn; DC024 is 11.5-54 VDC and AC230 is 100-240 VAC; entry A is 2 x M20 and 1 x 1/2 in NPT, B 2 x 1/2 in NPT, C 2 x 3/4 in NPT, D 2 x M25; plug material B brass, N nickel-plated brass, S stainless steel; bracket 1 is A4 316 stainless, 3 adds an equipment tag, 5 adds tag and duty label. Product version A is the standard UL, IECEx and ATEX variant with marine approvals, S is the SIL2 Route 1H version, T is telephone/relay initiate (supply 100-260 VAC or 10-30 VDC only), J adds CCCEx and D is the Class II version. Options include 1 (standard), Y, K, V and R for different stage-control configurations, and colour R (red) or G (grey). For the EU and UK CPR, MED and MER compliant 24 VDC variant, select version A and option 1. Accessories listed are the pole-mount bracket kit SP65-0001-A4 and sunshade SP65-0003-A4.

About brand
E2S builds one thing: audible and visual warning signals. The company, founded in 1992 and based in London, United Kingdom, makes sounders, beacons, combined units, manual call points and loudspeakers for industrial, marine and hazardous-area sites. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies E2S explosion-protected alarm sounders and xenon beacons for fire and gas systems in Oman, including the GNEx and BEx models shown on this page.
E2S hazardous-area families
E2S groups its Ex signals by family. GNEx and BEx are both for Zone 1 and Zone 21, and the STEx family covers the same zones. D1x and D2x are the lines for Class/Division sites, and the IS family is intrinsically safe for Zone 0. The listed items show the pattern: GNExS1F is an alarm horn sounder, GNExB2X10 a xenon strobe beacon and BExCS110-05 a combined sounder and beacon.
Ordering E2S signals: what we need
An E2S part number is completed by suffixes for supply voltage, lens color, cable entries and options, so send the whole code from the label. For a new requirement give the area classification, gas group and temperature class, voltage, lens color, entry thread, and the approval your project needs. Many GCC projects name IECEx or ATEX in the specification.
