Carlo Gavazzi DPB01CM44 3-Phase Voltage Monitoring Relay
Description
Phase loss, phase sequence and voltage monitoring in a 22.5 mm relay
The Carlo Gavazzi DPB01CM44 is a True RMS three-phase monitoring relay that watches phase loss, phase sequence, overvoltage and undervoltage on three-wire (3P) or four-wire (3P+N) systems from 208 to 480 V line-to-line. It draws its own supply from the monitored phases, so no separate auxiliary voltage is needed, and it switches a single changeover (SPDT) relay output that de-energises on alarm.
The M44 version is the wide-range member of the DPB01 family: one device covers eight nominal voltages from 208 to 480 V and, unlike the M23 and M48 versions, a frequency range of 50 to 400 Hz. The setpoints are adjusted with front dials and the alarm delay can be set from 0.1 to 30 seconds.

Setting the relay for a real installation
Start with the DIP switches: they select the power ON delay (1 or 6 seconds), whether the system is 3P or 3P+N, and which of the eight nominal voltages applies. Then set the undervoltage and overvoltage dials as percentages of that nominal value and choose an alarm delay long enough to ignore short sags from motor starting. Phase loss and wrong phase sequence trip immediately, without the delay. Connect the neutral only if it is genuinely at the star centre, and fit 315 mA delayed fuses if local rules require them.
Where it is typically fitted
Three-phase monitoring relays protect motors, pumps, compressors and rotating machines from reverse rotation, single-phasing and damaging voltage excursions. Wire the SPDT output into the contactor coil circuit or the PLC safety input so that an alarm drops the machine out. The wide 50 to 400 Hz capability of the M44 version also suits installations on non-standard supplies, but confirm the actual supply frequency against the datasheet before ordering.

About brand
Carlo Gavazzi is an international group that designs, manufactures and markets electronic control components for building and industrial automation. The company was founded in Milan in 1931, and the publicly quoted holding company is headquartered in Steinhausen, Switzerland. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Carlo Gavazzi sensors, solid state contactors, energy meters and monitoring relays for panels and machines.
Carlo Gavazzi product families
The portfolio published by the group covers sensors, solid state relays, energy meters and analyzers, monitoring relays, soft starters, timers, power supplies and safety devices. Each family has a datasheet with ordering keys, ratings and dimensions, so an exact part number can be checked before ordering.
Ordering Carlo Gavazzi products: what we need
Send the complete part number, the quantity, the supply or load voltage and current, the mounting style and any approvals needed. For energy meters add the system type and communication port, and for solid state relays add the load type and the ambient temperature at the panel.
