Brand:

Carlo Gavazzi RGC1A60D25KKE 25 A Solid State Contactor

Description

A 17.5 mm solid state contactor with built-in heatsink

The Carlo Gavazzi RGC1A60D25KKE is a single-pole, zero-cross solid state contactor for resistive and slightly inductive AC loads. It belongs to the RGC family of slim solid state contactors with an integrated heatsink, so no heatsink calculation is needed. This version switches up to 25 AAC at 40 C in a body only 17.5 mm wide with a low-depth heatsink, is controlled by 4 to 32 V DC, and has screw terminals for both power and control. The code reads RGC (solid state relay with heatsink), 1 (one pole), A (zero cross), 60 (voltage class with 1200 V peak blocking), D (DC control), 25 (25 A), KK (screw control and power terminals) and E (contactor configuration).

The output is protected against overvoltage by an integrated varistor and a green LED shows the control input. The datasheet lists conformance to railway standards, a 100 kArms short-circuit current rating according to UL 508 and a design that supports UL 508A control panel requirements.

Using the current rating correctly

The 25 AAC figure applies at a surrounding temperature of 40 C; at 25 C the datasheet allows 30 AAC, and the current derating curves in the datasheet show how the allowed current falls as the ambient temperature rises. In a panel with several devices side by side, derate for the actual enclosure temperature and spacing. A zero-cross device switches on near the zero of the AC wave, which keeps electrical noise low for heaters and lamps, while motor use is limited to the AC-53a rating of 5 AAC. Protect the output with fast fuses or a type B miniature circuit breaker chosen with the 1800 A2s I2t value.

Installation and ordering notes

Heat from the integrated heatsink leaves by natural convection, so keep free space above and below. Connect PE to the heatsink earth point where your installation rules require it; the datasheet notes that the PE screw is not supplied. Other variants in the family use 3 to 32 V DC or 20 to 275 VAC control, pluggable spring-loaded control terminals (M), box clamp power terminals (G) or higher currents up to 85 AAC, so confirm the exact suffix before ordering.

About brand

Carlo Gavazzi is an international group that designs, manufactures and markets electronic control components for building and industrial automation. The company was founded in Milan in 1931, and the publicly quoted holding company is headquartered in Steinhausen, Switzerland. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Carlo Gavazzi sensors, solid state contactors, energy meters and monitoring relays for panels and machines.

Carlo Gavazzi product families

The portfolio published by the group covers sensors, solid state relays, energy meters and analyzers, monitoring relays, soft starters, timers, power supplies and safety devices. Each family has a datasheet with ordering keys, ratings and dimensions, so an exact part number can be checked before ordering.

Ordering Carlo Gavazzi products: what we need

Send the complete part number, the quantity, the supply or load voltage and current, the mounting style and any approvals needed. For energy meters add the system type and communication port, and for solid state relays add the load type and the ambient temperature at the panel.
