Brand: Optrel
Optrel helix quattro Slide-Up Automatic Welding Helmet
Description
A slide-up welding and grinding helmet with a wide ShadeTronic range
The Optrel helix quattro (part number 1050.110) is the version of the helix series with the widest automatic range: ShadeTronic 4 to 13 on the standard lens, extended to 5 to 14 with the optional inner lens colour-true +1.0. This version is sold without an industrial safety helmet, with IsoFit headgear. The slide-up mechanism lets the welder switch between welding and grinding without taking the helmet off, using an internal flip-up cartridge for a clear view.
It offers optical class 1/1/1/1 and a panoramic view that Optrel states is 6.3 times larger than a standard 100 x 50 mm filter. In clear mode the view is 180 degrees. The five sensors use multi sensor detection to stay reliable in difficult lighting, and the FadeTronic opening delay works with a twilight function.

What is in the box and how it is used
The delivery includes the welding helmet, IsoFit headgear, instruction manual, storage bag, Micro-USB charging cable, face shield and warranty card. Optrel lists all electric welding processes: stick, MIG/MAG, high-performance GMAW, flux cored wire, TIG, plasma welding, microplasma and plasma cutting, plus gas welding and grinding with the inner flap raised. It is not suitable for laser welding.
The datasheet confirms compatibility with the Swiss Air respiratory system and with the Optrel HARD HAT in seven colours. It is not compatible with the standard headband, BumpCap, Parking Buddy or Halo. Replacement cartridges, nose pads, slide-up handles and face seals are separate accessories.
Choosing the right helix and ordering
The same series includes the helix 2.5 and the helix CLT; the datasheet lists the series part numbers 1050.000, 1050.100 and 1050.200. Part 1050.110 is the quattro without an industrial safety helmet, so state clearly whether you need a version with the HARD HAT. See welding helmets and face protection for other options, and respiratory protection if fume exposure needs powered or supplied air.
Please confirm the exact variant, whether an industrial safety helmet is required and the availability before ordering. The manufacturer page currently shows the item as not available from its own shop. For a quotation send the part number 1050.110, quantity and delivery location.

About brand
Welders usually know Optrel by the view through the lens. The Swiss company, founded in 1986 and based in Wattwil, makes auto-darkening welding helmets, grinding helmets and powered air respirators. Seven Star LLC lists the Optrel crystal2.0, e684, panoramaxx clt and panoramaxx 2.5 helmets and supplies them, with their spare lenses and headgear, to fabricators and contractors in Oman and the GCC.
Optrel welding helmets listed here
The crystal2.0 and the panoramaxx clt use Optrel's Crystal Lens Technology, which gives a very light, clear view at shade level 2.0 before the arc strikes. The panoramaxx helmets have a nose cut-out that brings the lens closer to the eyes and widens the field of view; the panoramaxx 2.5 has a light state of shade level 2.5. The e684 adjusts its shade level automatically to the arc. For fume protection Optrel pairs helmets with its e3000X and swiss air respiratory systems.
Where Optrel helmets are used
Fabrication shops, pipe spools, tank and structural work and site maintenance, on TIG, MIG/MAG and stick welding.
Ordering Optrel helmets and spares: what we need
State the helmet model and color, with or without respirator connection, and any hard hat adapter. For spares, give the model and say front cover lens, inside cover lens, sweatband or headgear.
