GCE X21 Original 0764574 Cutting Attachment

Description

A lever-operated cutting attachment for the X21 shank

The GCE X21 Original 0764574 is a standard-size cutting attachment for the X21 torch system. It has lever control of the cutting oxygen, a 90° head and a length of 239 mm, and works with acetylene or propane. It uses the nozzle-mix principle with 3-cone cutting nozzles, so the oxygen and fuel gas for the heating flame are fed at the same pressure and mixed in the nozzle.

The attachment screws onto any X21 shank, turning a welding torch into a cutting torch in minutes. The photo shows the attachment fitted to an X21 shank.

Choosing the cutting nozzle

GCE lists several nozzle families for the attachment. AGN Coolex nozzles cover 3 to 150 mm with acetylene, for example 0768692 for 10 to 25 mm at 3.0 to 4.0 bar oxygen. ANME acetylene nozzles reach 300 mm, and PNME or PNME Coolex nozzles cover 3 to 300 mm with propane or natural gas. Gouging and rivet nozzles A361 and A341 are also available. Always set oxygen and fuel pressure to the values for the nozzle and plate thickness.

Selecting head angle and length

The 90° head at 239 mm is the general-purpose choice for hand cutting on a bench or floor. Longer versions keep the hand further from heat and spatter, a 75° or 45° head helps on bevels and awkward positions, and a 180° head suits cutting straight ahead, for example inside frames. The X511 Original cutting torch is a dedicated one-piece alternative for heavy work.

Accessories for the X21 cutting attachment include radius arms with centre point for circle cutting, a hole cutting attachment, and twin-wheel cutting guides with small or big wheels, including a version for bevel cutting. A guide makes the cut more consistent than freehand work, which reduces grinding before welding. Keep the nozzle seat clean and replace damaged O-rings to avoid gas leaks at the head.

To light up, open the fuel valve slightly and ignite, then add heating oxygen until the preheat flames are neutral. Press the lever to start the cut only when the plate edge is bright red, and close the valves in the order given in the GCE instructions.

Clean nozzles regularly with the correct needles so the preheat flames stay even around the cutting oxygen jet.

Check the cutting oxygen lever and its seal regularly, because a leaking lever valve wastes oxygen and makes the preheat flame unstable during cutting.

About brand

GCE is a manufacturer of gas control equipment for industrial, medical and specialty gases, with its global headquarters in Steinhausen, Switzerland. The GCE Group was founded in 1987 as a maker of gas equipment. Since 2018 GCE has been part of ESAB.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list the X511 Original oxy-fuel cutting torch and source GCE gas welding and cutting equipment on request.

GCE equipment for welding and cutting

For gas welding and cutting the manufacturer offers cutting and welding sets, combination torches and hand cutting torches such as the X11 and X511 ranges, cutting nozzles, cylinder regulators and line regulators. Outside welding, GCE supplies equipment for medical gases and for high-purity specialty gases. Products are documented with instructions for use and declarations of conformity.

Ordering GCE torches and regulators: what we need

Give the GCE article number, or the product range with length, head angle and inlet threads. State the fuel gas, acetylene or propane, because the nozzle type depends on it, together with the plate thickness you cut and the safety devices required on site.
