WIKA A-10 Pressure Transmitter

Description

Overview

WIKA A-10 is a compact pressure transmitter engineered for general industrial and OEM applications, offering excellent measurement quality. Precision engineered with an all-stainless steel welded measuring cell, the WIKA A-10 pressure transmitter provides reliable resistance to vibration, shock, wide temperature variations, and RFI, making it a proven choice for machine building, shipbuilding, measurement and control technology, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems worldwide.

With fast quotation turnaround and technical support, Seven Star LLC proudly supplies the WIKA A-10 pressure transmitter to industrial, OEM, and process customers across Oman and the wider GCC. Every unit supplied through Seven Star LLC comes with manufacturer documentation and access to local technical support – supporting facility engineers and procurement teams in Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah who specify the WIKA A-10.

Working Principle

The WIKA A-10 measures pressure using a piezoresistive sensor built with thin-film sensor technology, mounted within an all-stainless steel welded measuring cell. As process pressure is applied to the sensing element, the resulting mechanical strain changes the electrical resistance of the piezoresistive elements in a Wheatstone bridge configuration; this change is measured and conditioned by onboard electronics to produce a linear, calibrated output signal proportional to pressure. Because the measuring cell is fully welded, the WIKA A-10 eliminates the soft sealing materials found in many competing designs, which can deteriorate and cause drift or leakage over the life of the instrument.

This all-welded construction gives the WIKA A-10 its defining reliability advantage: with no elastomeric seals in the pressure path, the transmitter maintains long-term measurement stability even under repeated pressure cycling, shock, and vibration. Users can select between two non-linearity classes, 0.5% or an improved 0.25% BFSL, to match the accuracy requirements of the application, and every transmitter ships with a free test certificate documenting the measuring points recorded during manufacture.

Engineering Design of the WIKA A-10

The WIKA A-10 covers an exceptionally wide range of measuring spans, from 0 to 0.05 bar up to 0 to 1,000 bar (0 to 1 psi up to 0 to 15,000 psi), with a 316L stainless steel pressure connection for the wetted parts. Standard process connections include G ¼ A per DIN EN ISO 1179-2, ¼ NPT, ½ NPT, SAE #4, and other configurations available on short lead time, while electrical connections span angular connector forms A and C, circular M12x1 connector, and a 2 m (6 ft) cable outlet, among other options.

Signal output options include the industry-standard 4 to 20 mA two-wire loop, along with DC 0 to 10 V and DC 0 to 5 V ratiometric outputs for direct compatibility with a wide range of PLC and control system input cards. Power supply requirements are 8 to 30 VDC for current output (14 to 30 VDC for voltage output models), and the transmitter is rated for operating temperatures from 0°C to +80°C (32°F to +176°F). Overvoltage protection to 32 VDC (36 VDC on 4-20 mA models) and short-circuit protection add further robustness for industrial wiring environments, and international cULus and EAC certification supports worldwide deployment.

About brand

WIKA is the German manufacturer of pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments, best known for its pressure gauges. Alexander Wiegand and Philipp Kachel founded it on 2 January 1946 in Klingenberg am Main, Bavaria. The name comes from the first two letters of their surnames. WIKA is still run by the Wiegand family and is headquartered in Klingenberg.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list WIKA pressure gauges, diaphragm seals, transmitters, switches, thermometers and thermowells, and supply them to plants, contractors and panel builders in Oman and the GCC by model and order code.

The WIKA model number tells you the build. In 232.50, the first digit 2 means stainless steel wetted parts, the second digit 3 means a liquid-fillable case, and ".50" is the case style. The 111 series uses copper alloy wetted parts and suits water and air. Where the medium is corrosive, very hot or would block the gauge, a diaphragm seal such as the 990.27 keeps it away from the Bourdon tube. For temperature, a thermowell like the TW10 lets you remove the sensor without opening the process.

Where WIKA instruments are used

In Oman and the GCC, WIKA gauges, transmitters and thermometers are used in oil and gas, refining and petrochemical plants, power and desalination, water networks, district cooling and HVAC, and on skids and machines from OEMs.
