Brand: Schischek
Schischek ExMax-S-Y Modulating Ex Rotary Actuator, 24-240 V
Description
A universal-input actuator for modulating duty
The Schischek ExMax-S-Y is the multi-voltage modulating version of the size S ExMax. One actuator accepts 3-position, 0 to 10 VDC or 4 to 20 mA control, selected by wiring, and returns both a voltage and a current feedback signal at the same time. The supply range is the full 24 to 240 VAC/DC. A YF variant adds spring return of about 3 or 10 s per 90 degrees.

What sets the Y type apart
Compared with the CY version, which takes only a 4 to 20 mA setpoint at 24 V, the Y types accept three control modes and the full voltage range, and they report position on two outputs. That is useful when one actuator type must serve several control systems. As with other modulating types, an adjustment drive started by the push button is used when an external mechanical limit restricts travel, and self adjustment is run before commissioning.
What to confirm before ordering
Define the signal type (3-position, voltage or current), whether signal inversion is needed, torque, spring return, running time and supply voltage. Hazardous-area wiring needs an Ex-e terminal box. The image is the manufacturer’s size S ExMax family photograph, not specifically a Y type.

About brand
Schischek makes explosion-proof HVAC products, including damper and valve actuators, sensors and controllers, and is now a Rotork brand. Seven Star LLC lists the Schischek ExMax and RedMax rotary actuators on this page and supplies them from Muscat as an independent supplier, with each type code checked against the manufacturer's datasheet.
Schischek actuator families listed here
The ExMax line is ATEX tested for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 and comes in a size S housing (5 to 30 Nm) and a size M housing (24 to 150 Nm). The RedMax line shares the size M housing but is tested for zone 2 and zone 22 locations. Versions on this page include 3-position and on-off drives, spring return actuators, the BF type with an Ex-i tripping circuit for fire damper temperature triggers, 4 to 20 mA and modulating Y types with feedback, and a multi-turn type. All run from a 24 to 240 VAC/DC supply unless the datasheet states 24 V only.
Ordering Schischek actuators: what we need
Send the complete type code including the suffix and coating option, the torque, the running time, the supply voltage and the zone and temperature class of the installation. Terminal boxes, brackets, weather shields and shaft adapters are listed in each datasheet as separate accessories, so name them in the request.
