Brand:

Schischek ExMax-S-R Explosion-Proof Multi-Turn Actuator

Description

Multi-turn drive for armatures beyond a quarter turn

The Schischek ExMax-S-R is the multi-turn member of the size S ExMax family. Instead of a 95 degree quarter turn it rotates through n x 360 degrees, which suits dampers and rotation valves with an angle of rotation above 90 degrees. Supply is 24 to 240 VAC/DC, control is on-off or 3-position, and torque is 5 / 10 Nm (type 5.10-R) or 15 / 30 Nm (type 15.30-R).

When to select the R type

Use it for armatures that need several turns, such as rotation valves with an angle above 90 degrees, and for other motorized applications in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. It has no spring return and no feedback outputs, so end-position control relies on external limit switches or the application’s own signalling. The accessories listed in the datasheet include ExBox terminal boxes, a mounting bracket, a manual override, a shaft clamp, shaft reducers and a weather shield.

What to confirm before ordering

Give the number of turns needed, the required torque, the running time per 360 degrees, voltage and the zone and temperature class. Confirm how the shaft couples to the armature.

About brand

Schischek makes explosion-proof HVAC products, including damper and valve actuators, sensors and controllers, and is now a Rotork brand. Seven Star LLC lists the Schischek ExMax and RedMax rotary actuators on this page and supplies them from Muscat as an independent supplier, with each type code checked against the manufacturer's datasheet.

Schischek actuator families listed here

The ExMax line is ATEX tested for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 and comes in a size S housing (5 to 30 Nm) and a size M housing (24 to 150 Nm). The RedMax line shares the size M housing but is tested for zone 2 and zone 22 locations. Versions on this page include 3-position and on-off drives, spring return actuators, the BF type with an Ex-i tripping circuit for fire damper temperature triggers, 4 to 20 mA and modulating Y types with feedback, and a multi-turn type. All run from a 24 to 240 VAC/DC supply unless the datasheet states 24 V only.

Ordering Schischek actuators: what we need

Send the complete type code including the suffix and coating option, the torque, the running time, the supply voltage and the zone and temperature class of the installation. Terminal boxes, brackets, weather shields and shaft adapters are listed in each datasheet as separate accessories, so name them in the request.
