Description
Higher-torque ATEX actuator in the size M housing
The Schischek ExMax-M-3P covers the larger housing of the ExMax line for bigger dampers, ball valves and throttle valves. Without spring return it delivers 50 / 75 Nm, 100 Nm or 150 Nm, and with spring return 30, 50 or 60 Nm. It runs on 24 to 240 VAC/DC with on-off or 3-position control, 95 degrees of rotation, and carries IP66/IP67 protection. The datasheet is published by Rotork.

Which size M type to pick
Select the torque with a margin over the damper or valve requirement, remembering that the 80 percent rule applies to spring return torque: the external load should not exceed 80 percent of the spring torque, and at least 10 Nm. The 50.75 type is adjustable between 50 and 75 Nm on site. Parameters at delivery are 50, 100 and 150 Nm with 90 s per 90 degrees.

The ExMax line is ATEX tested for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 and comes in a size S housing (5 to 30 Nm) and a size M housing (24 to 150 Nm). The RedMax line shares the size M housing but is tested for zone 2 and zone 22 locations. Versions on this page include 3-position and on-off drives, spring return actuators, the BF type with an Ex-i tripping circuit for fire damper temperature triggers, 4 to 20 mA and modulating Y types with feedback, and a multi-turn type.
