Brand:

Schischek ExMax-M-Y Size M Modulating Ex Rotary Actuator

Description

Modulating control for large dampers and valves

The Schischek ExMax-M-Y is the modulating actuator of the size M line. It accepts 3-position, 0 to 10 VDC or 4 to 20 mA control, reports position with two feedback signals, and operates from 24 to 240 VAC/DC. Torque ranges from 50 / 75 Nm and 100 Nm without spring return to 30 Nm and 50 Nm with spring return (YF) at about 20 s per 90 degrees.

Selecting between YF and Y

Y types without spring return reach the highest torques, up to 100 Nm. When a defined fail-safe position is required, use the YF versions at 30 or 50 Nm and size the load at no more than 80 percent of spring torque, with a minimum of 10 Nm. The reverse bridge and compulsion control make the actuator flexible for control systems that need signal inversion or a forced open or close.

What to confirm before ordering

State the type code with suffix, signal type, torque, spring return need, voltage and the Ex zone. Plan Ex-e terminal boxes for hazardous-area wiring, and use the listed accessories for shafts and weather protection.

About brand

Schischek makes explosion-proof HVAC products, including damper and valve actuators, sensors and controllers, and is now a Rotork brand. Seven Star LLC lists the Schischek ExMax and RedMax rotary actuators on this page and supplies them from Muscat as an independent supplier, with each type code checked against the manufacturer's datasheet.

Schischek actuator families listed here

The ExMax line is ATEX tested for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 and comes in a size S housing (5 to 30 Nm) and a size M housing (24 to 150 Nm). The RedMax line shares the size M housing but is tested for zone 2 and zone 22 locations. Versions on this page include 3-position and on-off drives, spring return actuators, the BF type with an Ex-i tripping circuit for fire damper temperature triggers, 4 to 20 mA and modulating Y types with feedback, and a multi-turn type. All run from a 24 to 240 VAC/DC supply unless the datasheet states 24 V only.

Ordering Schischek actuators: what we need

Send the complete type code including the suffix and coating option, the torque, the running time, the supply voltage and the zone and temperature class of the installation. Terminal boxes, brackets, weather shields and shaft adapters are listed in each datasheet as separate accessories, so name them in the request.
