ABB MS132-25 Manual Motor Starter 20-25 A
Description
MS132-25 manual motor starter for 11 kW motors
MS132-25 sets between 20 and 25 A, the range that matches 11 kW motors at 400 V (about 22 A). It is the only MS132 below 32 A where ABB changes the short-circuit rating: Icu and Ics are 50 kA at 230 V and 400 V, not 100 kA, and a 100 A gG back-up fuse is listed.
The thermal setting is adjustable, trip class is 10, and the magnetic trip is fixed at 300 to 450 A. A lockable handle and ON/OFF/TRIP indication are standard.
For a quotation, send the order code 1SAM350000R1014 together with the motor nameplate current and the supply voltage. Seven Star LLC supplies this motor starter as an independent supplier in Muscat, and stock and delivery time are confirmed in the written quotation.

Short-circuit data and what it means for the panel
If prospective fault current in your panel is below 50 kA, the MS132-25 stands alone. Above that, ABB specifies a 100 A gG fuse upstream, which then covers up to 100 kA according to the table note. At 690 V the rating is only 3 kA, so use it at 400 V class systems.
Power loss is 1.8 W per phase at 20 A and 2.8 W at 25 A. Terminals accept 2.5 to 6 mm2 solid and 1 to 6 mm2 flexible with ferrule, tightened to 2 Nm.
Selecting around the 25 A frame
The MS132-20 covers 16 to 20 A and the MS132-32 25 to 32 A. For a starter, combine the MS132-25 with an AF contactor so the motor can be switched remotely, while the starter provides protection and a visible isolation point.
Confirm that the motor current at your voltage lies inside 20 to 25 A, not at the extreme end.
Documents and quotation
The linked file is ABB MS132 manual motor starter data sheet 2CDC131021D0201. Seven Star LLC supplies the MS132-25 on request from Muscat; availability and lead time are stated in the quotation. For other protection devices see the Circuit Breakers category, for example the ABB Tmax XT moulded case circuit breakers.
Confirm before ordering: motor full-load current inside the setting range, the available fault level at the panel, whether the HKF1 auxiliary contact is needed, and the terminal type.

About brand
ABB is the Swiss-Swedish engineering group for electrification and automation: low voltage drives, motors, circuit breakers and motor control, process instruments and analysers, control systems and robots. It was formed on 5 January 1988 by the merger of two older companies. ASEA was founded in Västerås, Sweden, in 1883 by Ludvig Fredholm to make electric lighting and generators. BBC Brown Boveri was founded in Baden near Zurich in 1891 by Charles E. L. Brown and Walter Boveri. ABB Ltd is incorporated in Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm.
ABB company profile
| Formed | 5 January 1988, by the merger of ASEA (Sweden) and BBC Brown Boveri (Switzerland), each holding 50% |

Choosing an ABB drive
ABB's ACS drive codes are easy to read once you know the pattern. In ACS580-01-046A-4, "ACS580" is the drive family, "01" means a wall-mounted single drive, "046A" is the rated output current (about 46 A) and "-4" means a 380–480 V supply. The family is chosen by application: ACS355 for compact machinery, ACS310 for simple pumps and fans, ACS580 as the general-purpose drive, ACQ580 for water and wastewater with pump functions such as pipe fill and dry-run protection, and ACS880 for heavy industrial duty with direct torque control. Size the drive on the motor's full-load current, not only its kW rating, and allow derating for the high ambient temperatures common in Gulf electrical rooms.
Where ABB products are used
In Oman and the GCC, ABB drives and motors run pumps, fans and compressors in water and wastewater plants, district cooling, oil and gas and industry. ABB flowmeters, level instruments and analysers are used in water utilities, power and desalination plants and refineries, and SACE breakers protect switchboards in buildings and plants.

Ordering ABB products: what we need
Send the full type code from the nameplate (for example ACS580-01-046A-4 or 266DSH...) and, for spare parts, the ABB ID number (such as 3BSE008508R1 or 1SBL176001R3010). For drives, add the motor power and current and any option codes (+...). For instruments, send the complete order code, which sets range, materials and approvals. Baldor motors are listed on their own brand page.
Facts checked against ABB company filings and published histories of ASEA and Brown, Boveri & Cie, October 2026.
