ABB CP-E 24/20.0 Power Supply 24 V DC 20 A 480 W
Description
CP-E 24/20.0: 480 W supply with active power factor correction
CP-E 24/20.0 is the largest CP-E model, delivering 20 A (480 W) at 24 V DC from a wide 90 to 264 V AC or 120 to 375 V DC input. It differs from the smaller models by its active power factor correction (0.99 at 115 V, 0.97 at 230 V) and by the full-range AC input without a voltage switch.
Housed in metal at 175 mm wide and 1.85 kg, it is built for panels with large PLC systems, drive control electronics and many solenoid valves. ABB specifies operation from -40 to +70 C.

Why the PFC and derating data matter
Active PFC reduces input current: 2.5 A at 230 V for 480 W of output. That helps with breaker selection and generator sizing. The data sheet gives 25 A at 115 V and 50 A at 230 V of inrush for 5 ms and a 10 A slow-acting internal fuse.
Full output of 20 A is available up to 55 C; above that the output is derated by 2.5 percent per degree to 70 C. Dissipation is 63 W at typical efficiency of 89 percent, which must be removed from the enclosure by convection.
Compliance and installation
The data sheet lists electromagnetic immunity to IEC/EN 61000-6-2 with level 4 for ESD and burst, level 4 line-to-earth surge and class B emissions, and isolation of 3 kV AC between input and output. A signalling contact 13-14 reports output OK.
Mount horizontally on DIN rail with 25 mm clearance. Up to three units may be paralleled for capacity, or a CP-A RU redundancy unit used with two supplies. The output can be set between 22.5 and 28.5 V DC.
Documents and quotation
The linked file is ABB CP-E 24/20.0 power supply data sheet 2CDC114062D0201. Seven Star LLC supplies the CP-E 24/20.0 on request from Muscat; availability and lead time are given in the quotation. More electrical and power products are in the Power Modules category, and the ABB CR-M024DC4L interface relay is a typical 24 V DC load.
Confirm before ordering: mains input range at site, the total 24 V DC load including inrush, ambient temperature in the cabinet and whether a redundancy unit is wanted.

About brand
ABB is the Swiss-Swedish engineering group for electrification and automation: low voltage drives, motors, circuit breakers and motor control, process instruments and analysers, control systems and robots. It was formed on 5 January 1988 by the merger of two older companies. ASEA was founded in Västerås, Sweden, in 1883 by Ludvig Fredholm to make electric lighting and generators. BBC Brown Boveri was founded in Baden near Zurich in 1891 by Charles E. L. Brown and Walter Boveri. ABB Ltd is incorporated in Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm.

Choosing an ABB drive
ABB's ACS drive codes are easy to read once you know the pattern. In ACS580-01-046A-4, "ACS580" is the drive family, "01" means a wall-mounted single drive, "046A" is the rated output current (about 46 A) and "-4" means a 380–480 V supply. The family is chosen by application: ACS355 for compact machinery, ACS310 for simple pumps and fans, ACS580 as the general-purpose drive, ACQ580 for water and wastewater with pump functions such as pipe fill and dry-run protection, and ACS880 for heavy industrial duty with direct torque control. Size the drive on the motor's full-load current, not only its kW rating, and allow derating for the high ambient temperatures common in Gulf electrical rooms.
Where ABB products are used
In Oman and the GCC, ABB drives and motors run pumps, fans and compressors in water and wastewater plants, district cooling, oil and gas and industry. ABB flowmeters, level instruments and analysers are used in water utilities, power and desalination plants and refineries, and SACE breakers protect switchboards in buildings and plants.

Ordering ABB products: what we need
Send the full type code from the nameplate (for example ACS580-01-046A-4 or 266DSH...) and, for spare parts, the ABB ID number (such as 3BSE008508R1 or 1SBL176001R3010). For drives, add the motor power and current and any option codes (+...). For instruments, send the complete order code, which sets range, materials and approvals. Baldor motors are listed on their own brand page.
