Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W Power Supply, 24 V DC 4.2 A
Overview
The Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W (item number 2902993) is a primary-switched UNO POWER supply with screw connection for DIN rail mounting. It converts a single-phase 100 to 240 V AC supply, with a wide input range of 85 to 264 V AC, into a regulated 24 V DC output with 4.2 A nominal current and 100 W of output power. Phoenix Contact positions UNO POWER as the range with basic functionality and high power density, intended for loads up to 240 W in compact control boxes. The Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W measures only 55 mm wide, 90 mm high and 84 mm deep, so it fits into shallow enclosures and small control boxes.
Seven Star LLC supplies the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W to panel builders, OEMs and facility maintenance teams in the Sultanate of Oman and across the GCC, backed by sourcing and model selection support in Muscat.
Operating Principle and Efficiency
As general background, a primary-switched power supply rectifies the mains input, switches it at high frequency through a compact transformer and regulates the isolated secondary voltage. The Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W reaches a typical efficiency of 88 % at 120 V AC and 89 % at 230 V AC, and the maximum no-load power dissipation is below 0.5 W, which is important for devices that are energised around the clock. The power loss of the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W at nominal load is below 11 W, keeping heat inside small enclosures low.
The output characteristic of the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W is HICCUP: during an overload or short circuit, the supply switches off and restarts periodically instead of delivering continuous current. As a general guide, this mode limits thermal stress on the supply and on the wiring. The output is short-circuit-proof and no-load proof, the overvoltage protection limits the output to 35 V DC maximum, and residual ripple is below 30 mVpp at nominal values.
Input and Hold-Up Performance
The wide AC input of the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W handles voltage fluctuations common in remote sites and on generator-fed supplies. Typical current consumption of the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W is 2.1 A at 100 V AC and 0.95 A at 240 V AC, and the inrush current is typically below 40 A with an I²t below 1.5 A²s. The mains buffering time is more than 20 ms at 120 V AC and more than 100 ms at 230 V AC, so short interruptions on a 230 V network are bridged comfortably. The input is protected by an internal 4 A slow-blow fuse and a varistor-based transient surge protection circuit. Phoenix Contact recommends a 6 to 16 A breaker of characteristic B, C, D or K for input protection.

Applications in Oman and the GCC
The Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W is well suited to small 24 V DC loads: compact PLCs and remote I/O stations, gateway and router enclosures, sensor and transmitter supply in field junction boxes, gas detection controllers, access control and CCTV cabinets, HVAC controllers and lighting control. Across Oman and the GCC, its outdoor-capable temperature range of −25 to +70 °C, as stated by Phoenix Contact, is useful for kiosks and field cabinets exposed to high ambient temperatures, provided the derating above 55 °C is observed. The CSA and UL Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D T4 approvals listed in the data sheet support use in suitable hazardous-location enclosures within the certificate conditions.
For higher currents, Seven Star LLC also supplies the Phoenix Contact QUINT-PS/1AC/24DC/10 power supply and the Weidmuller PRO MAX 180W 24V 7.5A power supply, and for surge protection of signal lines the Phoenix Contact TTC-6-2X1-24DC-UT surge protector.

Installation Notes
Snap the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W onto a horizontal NS 35 DIN rail to EN 60715. It can be aligned with 0 mm horizontal spacing next to other devices and needs 30 mm clearance above and below for convection. Input and output of the Phoenix Contact UNO-PS/1AC/24DC/100W use M3 screw connections. As general guidance, size the conductors and the upstream breaker for the full input current, label the 24 V DC outputs clearly and check the output voltage with a calibrated meter during commissioning, because a stable 24 V DC bus is the basis for reliable PLC and instrument operation. Parallel connection is possible for redundancy and increased capacity, and series connection is also permitted. As general practice, use a redundancy module when paralleling units for redundancy.

Phoenix Contact items are ordered by a seven-digit order number together with the type designation, both printed on the side of the module. Send both, plus the quantity. If the number is unreadable, send the type text and a photo. For power supplies, state input voltage, output current and whether the unit runs in parallel or with a redundancy module. For buyers in the GCC replacing an older unit, we check the manufacturer's documentation for the listed successor type.Browse Phoenix Contact products by category: Isolator & Barrier, Power Modules, Automation Accessories.
