The Mean Well DDR-15L-24 is a 15 W DIN rail DC-DC converter that turns an 18 to 75 Vdc input into a regulated 24 V DC output at 0.63 A. The DDR-15 series is only 17.5 mm wide, one standard unit on the rail, and Mean Well specifies a 4:1 ultra-wide input range, -40 to +85 C operation and 4 kVdc isolation between input and output.

The L-type covers 18 to 75 Vdc input and the G-type covers 9 to 36 Vdc, so a 24 V, 48 V or 72 V battery or bus can feed the converter directly. Typical efficiency is 87% at 24 V output. Where a DIN rail DC-DC converter is used

A converter in the control cabinet creates a regulated, isolated rail from a battery bank, a DC bus or a 48 V telecom supply. The datasheet limits the altitude to 2000 m for L-type units and the safety standards listed are IEC 62368-1 and AS/NZS 62368.1, with design referring to UL 508. The unit snaps on TS-35/7.5 or TS-35/15 rail. Check the polarity of the DC source before connection and use a fuse in the input line sized to the 0.4 A typical input current at 48 Vdc.
