PULS QS20.241 24V 20A 480W Single-Phase DIN Rail Power Supply
Description
480 W of 24 V with a 150 % short-term reserve
The PULS QS20.241 is the 24 V, 20 A model of the DIMENSION Q-Series single-phase range. The datasheet lists a 82 mm wide housing, efficiency up to 93.9 %, active power factor correction and a short-term BonusPower capability of 150 %: 30 A (720 W) for typically 4 seconds. PULS positions this reserve for starting motors, charging capacitors and absorbing reverse energy, noting that it often allows a supply from a lower wattage class to be used. Unlike the CP and CS series, the Q-Series uses bi-stable quick-connect spring-clamp terminals that ship open, so wiring needs no screwdriver for the power connections.
The same datasheet covers the QS20.241-A1 (ATEX and IECEx approved) and QS20.241-C1 (conformal coating). This page describes the standard unit; confirm the suffix when you need hazardous-location approval or a coated board.

How BonusPower works in practice
BonusPower is controlled by an internal power manager. When the load exceeds 20 A the supply keeps the output voltage up for about 4 seconds, then falls back to the HiccupPLUS overload mode if the overload persists; it needs about 7 seconds of load below the limit to re-arm. This suits a DC drive, a group of valve actuators or a capacitive load that draws a short inrush, but it is not a way to run a continuous 30 A load. Size the supply for the continuous current and treat BonusPower as the margin.
Installation and selection notes
- Mount on 35 mm DIN rail with 7.5 or 15 mm height, input terminals at the bottom; keep the installation clearances given in chapter 2 of the datasheet.
- Daisy-chaining of outputs is allowed as long as the average current through one terminal pin does not exceed 25 A; use a distribution terminal beyond that.
- Use ferrule-fitted copper wire rated for 60 C, 75 C or 90 C depending on ambient up to 45, 60 and 70 C.
- Accessories in the order list: ZM2.WALL wall bracket, ZM15.SIDE side bracket, YR40.242 and YR40.245 redundancy modules.
- Choose the 3-phase QT40 or XT40 on this site when the cabinet only has a 3-phase supply.
Where it fits in GCC projects
A 480 W 24 V supply is a common choice for PLC cabinets, remote I/O panels and valve control marshalling cabinets in water treatment, pumping stations and utility substations. With full power to +60 C and a single-phase wide-range input it copes with hot cabinets and unstable generator-backed supplies; the unit also tolerates short-term input from 60 Vac. For redundant 24 V rails pair two QS20 units with a YR40 module. See the Power Modules category.
Selection and installation notes
A DIN-rail power supply is selected from the load current plus a margin of about twenty to thirty percent for start-up and ageing. Protect the input with the fuse or breaker the maker names, leave the clearances above and below for cooling, keep the output wiring short and check the output voltage under load. Where redundancy matters, use a decoupling module and two supplies rather than one larger unit.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
