ABB CP-E 24/10.0 Power Supply 24 V DC 10 A 240 W

Description

CP-E 24/10.0, a 240 W supply in a metal housing

CP-E 24/10.0 is the 240 W step of the CP-E range: 24 V DC at 10 A, adjustable from 22.5 to 28.5 V DC, from a 115/230 V AC auto-select input or 210 to 375 V DC. The housing is metal and 83 mm wide, and it weighs 1.334 kg.

It is suitable for panel supplies that combine PLC power, I/O modules, relay coils and field instruments, and ABB lists the same family accessories as the smaller units, including the CP-A RU redundancy unit.

Electrical behaviour of the 10 A model

Input current is 4 A at 115 V and 1.55 A at 230 V, with a typical power consumption of 270 W, so the breaker and cable must take 60 A inrush for 5 ms at 230 V. The internal fuse is 6.3 A slow-acting. Mains buffering time is at least 30 ms at 230 V.

The 13-14 signalling contact on this model is a relay (60 V DC, 0.3 A). Ripple and switching peaks are below 100 mV. Efficiency is typically 89 percent, so dissipation is about 35 W; allow ventilation and the 25 mm spacing.

Choosing between CP-E sizes

The CP-E 24/5.0 delivers 5 A in a 63.2 mm body, the CP-E 24/10.0 doubles that in 83 mm, and the CP-E 24/20.0 offers 20 A with active PFC. When the load approaches 80 percent of the rated current, step up a size or connect two units in parallel (up to three are allowed).

Output current is 10 A to 60 C ambient and derates by 2.5 percent per degree to 70 C. Capacitive loads up to 7000 uF can be started within 1.5 s.

Documents and quotation

The linked file is ABB CP-E 24/10.0 power supply data sheet 2CDC114061D0201. Seven Star LLC supplies the CP-E 24/10.0 on request from Muscat; availability and lead time are given in the quotation. More electrical and power products are in the Power Modules category, and the ABB CR-M024DC4L interface relay is a typical 24 V DC load.

Confirm before ordering: mains input range at site, the total 24 V DC load including inrush, ambient temperature in the cabinet and whether a redundancy unit is wanted.

About brand

ABB is the Swiss-Swedish engineering group for electrification and automation: low voltage drives, motors, circuit breakers and motor control, process instruments and analysers, control systems and robots. It was formed on 5 January 1988 by the merger of two older companies. ASEA was founded in Västerås, Sweden, in 1883 by Ludvig Fredholm to make electric lighting and generators. BBC Brown Boveri was founded in Baden near Zurich in 1891 by Charles E. L. Brown and Walter Boveri. ABB Ltd is incorporated in Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm.

Choosing an ABB drive

ABB's ACS drive codes are easy to read once you know the pattern. In ACS580-01-046A-4, "ACS580" is the drive family, "01" means a wall-mounted single drive, "046A" is the rated output current (about 46 A) and "-4" means a 380–480 V supply. The family is chosen by application: ACS355 for compact machinery, ACS310 for simple pumps and fans, ACS580 as the general-purpose drive, ACQ580 for water and wastewater with pump functions such as pipe fill and dry-run protection, and ACS880 for heavy industrial duty with direct torque control. Size the drive on the motor's full-load current, not only its kW rating, and allow derating for the high ambient temperatures common in Gulf electrical rooms.

Where ABB products are used

In Oman and the GCC, ABB drives and motors run pumps, fans and compressors in water and wastewater plants, district cooling, oil and gas and industry. ABB flowmeters, level instruments and analysers are used in water utilities, power and desalination plants and refineries, and SACE breakers protect switchboards in buildings and plants.

Ordering ABB products: what we need

Send the full type code from the nameplate (for example ACS580-01-046A-4 or 266DSH...) and, for spare parts, the ABB ID number (such as 3BSE008508R1 or 1SBL176001R3010). For drives, add the motor power and current and any option codes (+...). For instruments, send the complete order code, which sets range, materials and approvals. Baldor motors are listed on their own brand page.

Facts checked against ABB company filings and published histories of ASEA and Brown, Boveri & Cie, October 2026.
