Lorch HandyTIG 180 DC Portable TIG Welding Machine
Description
Lightweight DC TIG inverter for site and workshop
The Lorch HandyTIG 180 DC is a portable single-phase DC TIG welding inverter with a stick electrode mode, positioned by Lorch as its lightest entry into professional TIG welding. It plugs into a 230 V socket with a 16 A fuse, welds TIG from 3 A to 180 A with high-frequency ignition, and carries a strap so the operator can bring it to the job instead of the job to the machine.
The Control Pro panel follows Lorch’s three-step operating concept: choose the process, set the current on a 7-segment display that reads exact amps, and weld. The current can also be adjusted at the torch with an Up/Down function, a 2-stroke or 4-stroke trigger mode is switchable, and two TIG and two electrode jobs can be stored in the job memory.

Output and duty cycle in practice
The duty cycle in TIG DC mode is 130 A at 100% and 150 A at 60%, and the full 180 A is available at 30%. For thin stainless tube, root passes and sheet work in the 20 A to 120 A range the machine stays well within its continuous rating, which is the typical use for a portable unit. In stick mode it covers 5 A to 150 A with electrodes from 1.5 to 4.0 mm, enough for repair work on site where a single power cable is the only infrastructure.
Protection class IP23S and insulation class F follow the usual industrial ratings, and the machine is designated CE and S for use in environments with increased electrical hazard. A remote control connection is standard on all models, which allows a foot pedal or a torch remote to be used for fine control of the arc.
Choosing the version
Lorch supplies the HandyTIG as a solo machine, with the carrying strap included, or as a TIG assembly pack with the complete accessories for electrode and TIG welding in an assembly case. The solo machine suits users who already have a TIG torch, work cable and gas supply. The assembly pack suits a complete first outfit. The same series also includes the 200 A model and AC/DC versions for aluminium, listed in the same datasheet. Generator operation should be checked against the machine’s input current and the generator’s output stability before use on site.
Documents and quotation
The attached Lorch HandyTIG series datasheet lists the technical data for the series and its operation concepts. More TIG machines are listed under TIG welding machines.
For a quotation, state whether you need the solo machine or the assembly pack, the torch length, and the electrode and gas requirements.

About brand
Lorch Schweißtechnik is a German welding equipment manufacturer based in Auenwald, Germany, and the company was founded in 1957. It builds MIG-MAG, TIG and electrode welding machines for manual work as well as cobot and automated welding solutions. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and lists the Lorch S8 SpeedPulse XT MIG-MAG pulse welding machine.
Lorch product range
The MIG-MAG program includes the S, P, R, MX, iQS and MicorMIG series, with separate wire feeders such as the MF-10 full-protection feeder. Lorch also offers TIG and MMA inverters, Powermaster torches, the Lorch Connect monitoring system and cobot welding packages. Its Speed processes, including SpeedPulse XT, SpeedArc XT and the optional SpeedRoot and SpeedCold upgrades, are designed to raise welding speed and reduce spatter.
Ordering Lorch welding machines: what we need
State the series and model, the machine version (compact or separate wire feeder), gas or water cooling and the mains voltage at site. Add the hose package length, torch type and any process upgrades you need. For replacements, send the rating plate photo.
