Brand:

CK Worldwide CK9 Gas-Cooled TIG Torch

Description

A light 125 A air-cooled TIG torch for thin material

The CK Worldwide CK9 is a gas-cooled TIG torch rated at 125 A, ACHF or DCSP, at 100% duty cycle. It needs no water cooler: the shielding gas flowing through the head is the only cooling, which keeps the setup simple for sheet metal, tube and maintenance welding where currents stay moderate.

CK builds the CK9 body in rigid, flex and pencil styles, each with or without a gas valve (CK9V, CK9PV). A 6 in pencil-flex body, CKPF130, shares the HS handle. All versions take 2 Series consumables, the same family used on the CK20 and CK25, so collets, collet bodies and cups can be shared across a mixed torch fleet.

One-piece or two-piece cable, and how to read the package code

A 1-piece cable carries current and gas in one hose and suits machines with a gas-through connection. A 2-piece setup separates the weld lead from the argon hose, which is the usual choice when the power source has a lug or a DINSE socket plus a separate gas fitting. In the CK part number, -R means 1-piece, -2 means 2-piece, SF marks Super-Flex hose, and RG or FX gives the head style. For example, CK9-25-2SF FX is a flex-head torch with a 25 ft 2-piece Super-Flex cable.

The manual lists DINSE adapters for 3/8 in and 1/2 in sockets, gas-through versions with the suffix M, and Tweco or Cam-Lock options. Accessory kit AK-4 bundles a long back cap, collets, collet bodies, alumina cups and ceriated tungsten in 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8 in sizes; AK-4GS is the gas-saver equivalent.

Where the CK9 fits

Gas-cooled torches are lighter and cheaper to run than water-cooled ones, but the rating is the limit. For continuous work above 125 A, or for long arc-on times on thick sections, a water-cooled body such as the CK20 water-cooled TIG torch is the better match. A valved CK9V is only needed when the power source has no gas solenoid.
