JUMO Wtrans E01 Wireless Humidity, Temperature and CO2 Probe
Description
Wireless measuring probe for humidity, temperature and CO2
The JUMO Wtrans E01 (type 902928) is a measuring probe with wireless data transmission. It works together with a Wtrans receiver and records values from digital sensors for humidity, temperature and CO2. Two M12 x 1 plug connectors accept the sensors in any combination, and the probe detects them automatically (plug and play).
Up to four measured values are recorded, derived values included, and transmitted at a radio frequency of 868.4 MHz to the receiver of the Wtrans measuring system, where they are displayed and made available as digital or analog output variables. Open-air range is 300 m, and the wiring effort is largely eliminated.
The electronics and a backlit LCD with operating keys sit in a wall-mounted case with IP65 protection. The probe is powered from four lithium batteries of size AA or from an external DC 18 to 30 V supply, and it is configured via the keys or the USB interface.
Other measurands can be derived from the measured values, such as dew point or absolute humidity, when the corresponding extra code or accessory is activated on the device. Measuring probe breaks and short circuits are detected and shown as an error message (Err) on the LCD display.

Pairing with a receiver and sensors
The probe sends to the universal Wtrans receiver described in data sheet 902931, which provides up to 16 receiver channels per receiver, an RS485 interface with Modbus protocol and analog or relay outputs. Select the sensor set from the accessory list: a combined humidity and temperature sensor, a CO2 sensor, or a Pt1000 RTD probe.
Sensors can be mounted away from the housing with extension cables and an antenna, which helps in places where the case cannot sit at the measuring point. The data sheet recommends Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries, and the stated battery life applies only to those.
Setup uses the setup program, available as an accessory, over the USB interface. Configurable parameters are the transmitter detection ID, transmission interval, measurands, offset, measuring interval and display.
Measuring and transmission intervals are independent. A long measuring interval saves battery life, and the transmission interval of 1 to 3600 s decides how often the receiver gets fresh data, with all measured values sent together at a default of 15 s. Fast intervals, a second sensor, and very high or low ambient temperatures all reduce the battery life stated in the data sheet.
The Pt1000 input allows a class A probe in four-wire circuit with a protection tube of 4 mm. Its response time in water at 0.4 m/s is about 3 s to reach 50 percent and about 7 s to reach 90 percent, and in air at 3.0 m/s about 25 s and 80 s.
Applications
Wireless sensing is useful where cabling is costly or impossible: warehouses, climate chambers, storage rooms, production halls, and buildings where air quality has to be recorded in several places. The CO2 option supports ventilation checks, and the humidity and temperature sensor covers storage conditions.
Plan the radio path in advance. Open-air range is 300 m, but walls, metal racks and machinery reduce the usable distance, so test the link with the receiver at the planned location before fixing the housing.
The wall-mounted case can be used inside and outside buildings with a DIN rail piece, in a vertical installation position. It can be cleaned with conventional washing, rinsing and cleaning agents, and it tolerates dripping water according to class 3Z7.

About brand
JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.
Where JUMO products are used
In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.
Ordering JUMO products: what we need
Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.
