JUMO 907037 Intrinsically Safe Humidity and Temperature Transmitter

Description

Intrinsically safe humidity and temperature transmitter for hazardous areas

The JUMO 907037 series is an intrinsically safe humidity and temperature transmitter that can be installed directly in hazardous areas, including Zone 0 per the data sheet. It is presented as the next-generation replacement for the long-running 907025 transmitter. The housing is aluminum EN AW-6082, IP66 (NEMA 4), with an optional graphical LCD and keypad for output configuration, measurement calibration and adjustment on site.

A detachable probe module makes service easy: probes can be removed for calibration outside the hazardous area, and a new probe loads current settings from the transmitter. Six probe options fit different jobs: /1 wall mount, /3 confined spaces, /4 pressurized spaces, /5 high temperature, /7 high humidity and /8 pressurized pipelines. The photo shows the wall-mount version.

Probe options include fixed and cable-connected versions with cable lengths of 2, 5 or 10 m, and several pressure fittings such as M22 x 1.5 and NPT 1/2 inch fitting bodies, which makes the series adaptable to existing sampling points.

Ordering the correct configuration

The order code is built from twelve blocks for the wall-mount transmitter: basic type extension, Ex version (IECEx global or ATEX Europe), sensor type, sensor protection (metallized PPS grid with steel mesh, sintered AISI 316L filter or PPS grid), accessories, display and keypad, output units (metric or non-metric), parameter for channels 1 and 2 (humidity 0 to 100 % RH, temperature ranges or customized), cable glands and transmitter accessories such as the 907025 retrofit mounting plate and a USB service cable.

Other probe types use similar blocks with sensor cable lengths of 2, 5 or 10 m and installation kits, for example the duct installation kit 210697 and Swagelok fittings. Choose the Ex version (ATEX or IECEx) to match the site rules, and state the required output ranges clearly.

The data sheet includes graphs of humidity accuracy as a function of temperature and of temperature accuracy over the full range. For a safe design, read the graph at your process temperature and add a margin where the application is critical.

Applications and installation

Typical jobs include dew point monitoring in gas-processing and chemical plants, inert-gas and drying systems, pharmaceutical solvent areas and any hazardous area where condensation or humidity affects safety or product quality. The pressurized probe types suit vacuum chambers, process pipelines and ball-valve mounted sampling points.

The two outputs are connected through safety barriers, so plan the intrinsically safe loop with barrier data that matches the entity parameters listed above. The 0.8 to 1.1 bar ambient pressure limit applies to the transmitter in the hazardous area. Check regional approvals, since the sheet lists USA, Canada, China and Korea as planned for future releases.

Calibration is simplified by the detachable probe: because the probe can be removed and calibrated outside the hazardous area, the plant does not need to open the Ex enclosure for routine calibration. A traceable calibration certificate is included, according to the data sheet, and a USB service cable is available as an accessory.

Always confirm the Ex marking, the permitted ambient temperature and the cable lengths in the certificate of the version you order, because the approval applies to the exact version and to the installation conditions it names.

About brand

JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.

Where JUMO products are used

In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.

Ordering JUMO products: what we need

Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.

Facts checked against JUMO's company history, October 2026.
