JUMO 902130 Push-In RTD Temperature Probe with Terminal Head Form J

Description

A slim push-in Pt100 probe in a compact form J head

The JUMO 902130 is a push-in RTD temperature probe with a die-cast aluminium terminal head form J (M16 x 1.5 cable entry, IP65) for temperatures from -50 to +400 degC. It is offered as a single or double RTD and can carry an analog transmitter inside the head. JUMO highlights the reliable sealing of this installation type under vacuum and overpressure and names air conditioning, refrigeration, HVAC, kiln and apparatus engineering as typical sectors.

Three basic types are listed: 902130/10 with a continuous thermowell, 902130/11 with a stepped thermowell (6 mm tapering to 3.8 mm, or 8 mm to 6 mm) for faster response, and 902130/31 with a stepped thermowell designed for air measurement. The measuring insert is normally a Pt100 to DIN EN 60751 class B in 2-wire circuit, with 3-wire and 4-wire versions as well as Pt500 or Pt1000 elements on request.

Order code, stocked versions and options for the 902130

The order code reads basic type – operating temperature – measuring insert – tolerance class – tube diameter – nominal length – process connection / extra code, for instance 902130/10 – 402 – 1001 – 1 – 6 – 100 – 000 / 000. Operating-temperature code 647 (-20 to +150 degC) is only combined with tolerance class B. Process connection 245 is the spring-loaded G 1/2 thermowell fitting for 8 mm tubes (maximum 180 degC), 252 is G 1/4 for 6 mm only, 254 is G 1/2 for 6 or 8 mm, and 662 and 667 are the 6 mm and 8 mm metal flanges. Extra code 330 adds one analog 4 to 20 mA transmitter.

Stocked variants are therefore short 2-wire Pt100 probes in 6 mm tubes without process connection, ready to be pushed into a separate thermowell.

Choosing between continuous, stepped and air-measurement tubes

The continuous tube suits general use inside a thermowell. The stepped tube of the /11 type gives a thinner tip and therefore a shorter response time, while the /31 type is built for measuring air or gas, where a small sensing tip matters more than mechanical stiffness. In general, response time grows with tube diameter and falls with medium velocity, so a probe in moving air will react more slowly than the same probe in stirred water. These general points are not printed values from the datasheet.

The head is rated for ambient temperatures up to +100 degC, and the range shrinks when a transmitter is installed (see data sheet 70.7030). A push-in probe is not screwed into the medium directly; it slides into a separate thermowell or fitting, so maintenance can be done without opening the process. Check the immersion length so the tip sits in the flow centre, and size the thermowell for the pressure, as the thermowell accessory sheets provide pressure data. Typical applications are heat-pump circuits, chillers, ductwork, small furnaces and machine cooling loops.

Pairing the probe with a transmitter is straightforward: extra code 330 fits one analog 4 to 20 mA transmitter in the form J head, and the measuring range is written in plain text at order. Remember that fitting a transmitter lowers the permitted ambient temperature at the head, as noted in data sheet 70.7030. The stocked class B probes use temperature code 402 for -50 to +400 degC and code 647 for -20 to +150 degC, and the single stocked air-measurement version 902130/31-380-1003-1-6-290-000/000 (part 90/00438399) has a 290 mm stepped tube for use in ducts.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
