JUMO hydroTRANS S20 Wall-Mount Humidity and Temperature Transmitter

Description

Wall-mount humidity and temperature transmitter with optional CO2 module

The JUMO hydroTRANS S20 (type 907042) is a wall-mounted transmitter that monitors indoor and weather-proofed outdoor air for relative humidity and temperature, with an optional carbon dioxide (CO2) module. Three output families are offered: a configurable 4 to 20 mA / 0 to 10 V combination output, RS485 with Modbus RTU, and Single Pair Ethernet (SPE, 10BASE-T1L) with power over data line and Modbus TCP plus an integrated JUMO Cloud gateway.

A polycarbonate IP65 housing with an optional 1.77 inch TFT display, a micro-USB setup port and spring-cage terminals keeps installation simple. Beside the measured values, the device calculates dew point, frost point, wet-bulb temperature, absolute humidity, mixing ratio, partial water vapor pressure and specific enthalpy, so a PLC or building system gets psychrometric values without extra math.

Because the SPE version carries data and power over a single twisted pair for up to 500 m, a transmitter can be placed in a remote hall without separate mains or signal cables. It publishes through Modbus TCP and an integrated JUMO Cloud gateway.

Order code and calibration options

The order code runs: type 907042, extension (11 or 12), version 0, measuring range (15 for 0 to 100 % RH / -40 to +80 °C, 17 for 0 to 95 % RH / -10 to +60 °C / 10000 ppm), output (009 analog combination, 530 RS485 Modbus, 535 SPE with PoDL, only with display) and extra codes: 062 DNV, 775 DAkkS calibration service, 951 three-point DAkkS calibration at 20, 50 and 80 % RH at 23 °C, 952 two-point calibration, 994 integrated display. A sample is 907042/12-0-17-009/994.

Accessories include a USB cable, setup program, plastic sinter filter and membrane filter. Ask for the filter type when the air carries dust or condensation.

Pick the measuring range code to match the sensor option: code 15 gives the full 0 to 100 % RH and -40 to +80 °C range without CO2, while code 17 limits humidity to 95 % RH and temperature to -10 to +60 °C because of the CO2 module. Accuracy figures apply after a stabilization time of at least 60 hours following first start-up and at humidity of 30 % RH or above.

Where to use it

The S20 suits wall installation in warehouses, cold rooms, server and control rooms, switchgear rooms, HVAC plant rooms and sheltered outdoor locations. The data sheet lists a plastic sinter filter and a plastic membrane filter as accessories for dusty or damp air.

Use the analog output for older PLC cards, RS485 for a Modbus network of several units, and SPE where long cable runs with a single pair must also supply power. For CO2-based ventilation control, order the CO2 version and keep it away from vibrating surfaces such as fan housings.

For commissioning, connect a PC with the micro-B USB cable and the JUMO hydroTRANS setup program (00775170). Terminals are spring-cage type for 0.2 to 1.5 mm2 conductors, and the connected cables must tolerate at least 80 °C. The device must be fed from a limited-energy circuit as required by DIN EN IEC 61010-1:2020.

Because the housing is polycarbonate with IP65, the S20 can also be fitted in sheltered outdoor locations, but direct sun and splashing should be avoided. Allow the 60-hour stabilization period before judging the accuracy of a new installation.

About brand

JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.

Where JUMO products are used

In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.

Ordering JUMO products: what we need

Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.

Facts checked against JUMO's company history, October 2026.
