Delta DOP-300 S Standard HMI 7 and 10.1 inch

Description

Delta DOP-300 S standard HMI series with cloud connectivity

The Delta DOP-300 S is the Standard type of Delta’s operator-panel range. It combines a fully laminated resistive touchscreen, a wide-format IPS-style display with a narrow bezel and a dual-core processor, and it is aimed at machines and skids that need both local control and remote data collection. Where the entry-level Basic panels stop at local operation, the DOP-300 S adds MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus and EtherNet/IP support and a connection to Delta’s DIACloud platform. Seven Star LLC supplies the DOP-300 S in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat.

The series is built around two models in the published specification: the 7 inch DOP-3S07S3E2 and the 10.1 inch DOP-3S10S3E2. Both use a 24-bit TFT LCD with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution and LED backlight, so project screens designed for one size scale predictably to the other.

What the model code tells you

Delta prints the series name on the bezel as DOP-300S. The ordering models listed on the product page encode the screen size in the digits after the series prefix: 07 for the 7 inch panel and 10 for the 10.1 inch panel. We recommend always quoting the full model code, not only the series name, so the correct screen size and mounting cut-out are supplied.

How the DOP-300 S works in a control system

A human-machine interface of this class acts as the operator window onto a PLC, drive, temperature controller or other field device. The panel runs a project built in Delta’s HMI configuration software, polls tags from the connected devices over the serial or Ethernet ports, and presents them as screens, trends, alarms and recipes. The DOP-300 S carries three serial ports in different electrical standards, so a single panel can talk to an RS-232 device, an RS-485 multidrop network and an RS-422 device at the same time.

The two isolated Ethernet ports let the panel sit on a machine network and a plant or cloud network at once, which keeps controller traffic separate from supervisory traffic. The communication protocols listed for the series are MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus and EtherNet/IP. MQTT and OPC UA are the protocols normally used to move data upward into supervisory, historian or IIoT systems, while Modbus and EtherNet/IP connect the panel downward to controllers.

The cloud function is based on DIACloud, which Delta describes as a cloud platform for data collection and remote monitoring. Typical examples named for this series are air compressors and water pumps, where an engineer wants to view running data away from the machine.

Fitting the DOP-300 S into your panel design

The series belongs to Delta’s Standard HMI type, positioned above the Basic type and below higher-end ranges. The nearest siblings on the same supplier list are the Basic DOP-100 B panels (DOP-103BQ and DOP-107BV, 4.3 and 7 inch), which have an IP65 rating, a Cortex-A8 processor and two serial ports, but no cloud platform. Choose the DOP-300 S when you need Ethernet-based protocols, three serial ports or remote data collection; choose the DOP-100 B when you need a compact panel for local operation only.

Wireless networking is also part of the design: the series includes a built-in antenna and supports wireless modules, which helps where running a network cable to the machine is difficult. Confirm the exact wireless module with us before ordering, as the module is a separate item and its availability depends on the region.

Related controllers

The DOP-300 S is normally paired with Delta PLCs and temperature controllers, and its Modbus support also allows it to read third-party controllers and drives. For multi-zone heating applications, the temperature controllers DT3, DTM and DTN are common partners over RS-485 Modbus.

DOP-300 S selection and ordering checklist

  • Screen size: 7 inch (DOP-3S07S3E2) for compact panels, 10.1 inch (DOP-3S10S3E2) where more process data must be visible at once.
  • Panel cut-out: 186.8 x 126.8 mm for the 7 inch model or 255 x 170 mm for the 10.1 inch model; check the enclosure door thickness and free depth behind it.
  • Communication: list every device the HMI must talk to and the port standard it uses (RS-232, RS-485 or RS-422), then confirm the three serial ports cover them.
  • Network: decide whether the two Ethernet ports will connect to a machine network, a plant network, or both.
  • Cloud use: confirm whether DIACloud or an MQTT / OPC UA gateway will be used, as this affects firewall and network design on site.
  • Environment: the specified operating range is 0 to 50°C, so panel temperature inside the enclosure must be considered in hot sites.
  • Wireless: state if a wireless module is required in addition to the built-in antenna.

Installation, commissioning and maintenance of the DOP-300 S

Mount the panel in a clean cut-out of the stated size, using the supplied clamps, and keep the rear free for cable bend radius. Route communication cables away from motor and drive power cables, and use shielded twisted pair for RS-485 and RS-422 with the shield grounded at one end. Termination resistors should be applied at the physical ends of a multidrop RS-485 line, not on every device.

During commissioning, load the project from the micro SD card or USB port, assign unique IP addresses to the Ethernet ports, and test each protocol channel separately before enabling cloud connectivity. Keep a backup copy of the HMI project and recipe data off the panel; the Flash memory is 512 Mbytes and should hold the project, not a long-term archive.

For maintenance, clean the laminated touch surface with a soft damp cloth, avoid abrasive pads, and check the backlight hours in line with the stated half-life of more than 20,000 hours. Replacement panels should be of the same model code so that existing projects load without conversion.

Applications of the DOP-300 S in Oman and the GCC

Delta names air compressors and water pumps as examples for remote cloud monitoring, and also lists medical, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage applications. In Oman and the GCC the same pattern appears in utility rooms, packaged compressor skids, water treatment and pumping stations, and food processing lines, where operators want a clear local screen and a supervisor wants a remote view of running status.

Heat is the main site factor in the region. The panel is specified for an operating range of 0 to 50°C, so it should be installed inside an air-conditioned or ventilated cabinet rather than directly on a hot outdoor skid. Dust and humidity are managed by the enclosure and the laminated front, not by the panel alone.

Delta PLC families and the DVP slim line

Delta's controller program runs from the DVP series through the modular AS series to the AH series. Inside the DVP series, the slim CPUs (among them DVP-SS2, SA2, SX2, SV2 and SE) take slim expansion modules on their right side. The DVP04AD-S2 is one of these: a four-channel analog input module for voltage or current signals, which the CPU reads with FROM and TO instructions.
