Description
A 15-inch Performance-series operator terminal
The Allen-Bradley 2711P-T15C22D9P is the 15-inch touch model of the PanelView Plus 7 Performance range, with 1024 x 768 XGA resolution and 24V DC power. It is intended for larger machine panels where several process screens, trends and alarms are shown together.
Like the smaller Performance terminals it has two Ethernet ports for DLR, linear or star networks and communicates with ControlLogix and CompactLogix 5370 controllers.

Ordering code for 2711P-T15C22D9P
Reading the number: 2711P is the PanelView Plus 7 range, T is touch-only, and 15C is the 15-inch display. 22 stands for two Ethernet ports, D for 24V DC power and 9P for the Performance model. A B15 prefix, for example 2711P-B15C22D9P, is the touch-with-keypad terminal, while a K or -B suffix indicates conformal coating or no brand marking.
The 10.4-inch sibling 2711P-T10C22D9P shares the electronics but has a smaller panel.
Size, cutout and environment
The housing measures 318 x 381 x 69.6 mm and weighs 3.69 kg, so a 290 x 353 mm panel cutout is needed. Operating temperature is 0 to 55 °C. Rockwell lists NEMA and UL Type 12, 13 and 4X enclosure ratings plus IP66 as classified by UL.
The two hardware generations differ in power, from 50 W maximum in Series A to 39 W in Series B, and in operating system, from Windows CE 6.0 to Windows 10 IoT Core. Check which series is supplied before ordering a replacement.
Typical heat dissipation for the 15-inch DC terminal is 61 BTU for Series A and 71 BTU for Series B, measured at 25 °C. Vibration resistance for the 15-inch size is stated as 0.006 pk-pk from 10 to 57 Hz and 1 g peak from 57 to 640 Hz, with 15 g operating shock for 11 ms, so panel placement near heavy machinery should still be reviewed.
Key features of the PanelView Plus 7 Performance 15-inch
- Large XGA touch screen: 1024 x 768 resolution on a 15-inch display leaves room for overview graphics, trends and alarm banners on one screen.
- Dual Ethernet with DLR: two ports allow Device Level Ring, so a single cable break does not stop communication with the controller.
- FactoryTalk View ME runtime: applications are created in FactoryTalk View Studio Machine Edition and can use Logix tag addressing directly.
- Harsh-environment front: Type 4X and IP66 ratings, when correctly installed in a suitable panel, allow wash-down areas and outdoor-facing kiosks.
- Remote access: built-in web and VNC functions support remote viewing and diagnostics where the network allows it.
Selection guidance
Select the 15-inch size when operators must see many process values at once or work from a distance, for example on a skid or MCC line-up. If space in the door is limited, the 10.4-inch or 12.1-inch Performance terminals offer the same communications in a smaller cutout. Choose the touch-only T version for most modern applications; the B version with keypad suits sites where operators wear thick gloves or where function keys are part of the operating philosophy. For corrosive or humid atmospheres, the conformal coated K variant gives extra protection to the electronics. When replacing an existing terminal, check the FactoryTalk View firmware revision and series, because applications must be compiled for the runtime version installed on the terminal.
Installation and maintenance
- Cut the panel to 290 x 353 mm and tighten the mounting clips to the torque in the installation instructions; uneven or excessive torque can deform the bezel and break the seal.
- Provide a clean, regulated 24V DC supply and connect the functional earth.
- Allow the specified free space around the rear of the unit for heat dissipation.
- Clean the touch screen with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth; avoid abrasive or solvent cleaners.
- Keep backups of the runtime application (.mer) and the source project, together with the firmware version.
Use in Oman and GCC conditions
Large PanelView terminals are typical in water and wastewater treatment plants, desalination units, oil and gas skids, cement plants and food factories across the region. The 0 to 55 °C operating range is suitable for air-conditioned control rooms and cooled panels, but a door-mounted HMI facing direct sunlight can heat up quickly, so shading or a sun hood should be considered for outdoor panels. Dust and sand require the gasket to be in good condition, and the conformal coated variant is worth considering in coastal and high-humidity locations to reduce corrosion of the electronics.

About brand
Catalog numbers beginning 1756, 1734, 1746 or 5069 are read at a glance by anyone who maintains Allen-Bradley control panels. The brand, the control hardware name of Rockwell Automation, dates back to 1903 in Milwaukee, USA. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Allen-Bradley PLC and I/O modules, communication adapters and PowerFlex drives for plants in Oman, matching catalog number, series letter and firmware against the manufacturer's documentation.
Allen-Bradley product families listed here
Current controller platforms on this page are ControlLogix, with the 1756-L85E ControlLogix 5580 controller and the 1756-PA72 chassis power supply, and CompactLogix 5380, with the 5069-L320ER and 5069-L340ERM. Distributed I/O is represented by POINT I/O: the 1734-AENTR dual-port EtherNet/IP adapter and the 1734-IB8 digital input module. Allen-Bradley drives listed include the PowerFlex 525 and PowerFlex 755. For installed systems there are SLC 500 parts: the 1746-A10 chassis, 1746-NI16I analog input module, 1747-ASB remote I/O adapter, 1747-KE interface and 1747-M13 memory module.
Where Allen-Bradley hardware is used
ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers run packaged equipment and plant utilities: compressor and pump skids, water and wastewater plants, power distribution, material handling and packaging lines. PowerFlex drives control pumps, fans and conveyors. Many SLC 500 racks are still in service.
Ordering Allen-Bradley modules and drives: what we need
Send the full catalog number, the series letter and, for controllers and communication modules, the firmware revision printed on the side label. Compatibility with an existing project depends on these. For PowerFlex drives, give the complete catalog string, which encodes voltage, current rating, enclosure and options, plus the motor nameplate data. For SLC 500 parts, tell us the rack size and processor so that we can check slot and power supply loading in the manufacturer's manuals. A label photo avoids most mistakes.
