Description
The Advantech ADAM-6000, ADAM-6200 and ADAM-6300 series are Ethernet remote I/O modules that bring analog and digital signals from field devices onto an Ethernet network. They can act as standalone units for measurement, control and automation, and the family covers temperature, analog, digital, relay and PID control modules.

Three series, one family
The datasheet compares the series by protocols and connectivity. The ADAM-6000 and ADAM-6200 series support Modbus, MQTT, SNMP and RESTful interfaces, with secure cloud I/O features including device management, OTA firmware updates, TLS and X.509 certificates. The ADAM-6200 and ADAM-6300 series support daisy-chain connectivity with Ethernet auto-bypass. The ADAM-6300 series adds OPC UA with security.
Peer-to-peer (P2P) channel mapping and Graphic Condition Logic (GCL) are built into the ADAM-6000 and ADAM-6200 modules, so simple logic rules can be set up in the Advantech IO Module Utility without a separate controller. EdgeHub support allows cross-site device management.

Applications and what to confirm before ordering
The datasheet shows the modules reading humidity, temperature, vibration, level and pressure signals and driving valves, lights and switches, with data sent to SCADA, network management systems, databases and cloud platforms such as Azure.
Because these are separate model numbers with different channel counts and ranges, send the exact model (for example ADAM-6017 or ADAM-6317), the required I/O type, protocol (Modbus TCP, MQTT, OPC UA) and temperature grade, including whether the wide-temperature D version is needed.

The ADAM-6017 is an 8-channel analog input module from the ADAM-6000 Ethernet I/O family. It brings voltage and current signals onto a network and is read by SCADA or PLC software over Modbus TCP. The ADAM-4520 belongs to the ADAM-4000 serial family and converts RS-232 to isolated RS-422 or RS-485, a common fix for linking a PC or panel to field devices. The IPC-623 is a 4U, 20-slot rackmount chassis that houses a backplane, CPU card and expansion cards for control room computers.
