Sizing and Selection Guidance

Before ordering a Varipak valve, collect the full process data sheet: fluid, minimum, normal and maximum flow, inlet and outlet pressures at each flow case, temperature, and any flashing or cavitation risk. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Typical problems on small severe-service valves are seat leakage, packing leaks and unstable control. Seat leakage in high-pressure-drop service usually points to trim erosion, which calls for trim inspection and replacement. Packing leaks can often be cured by adjusting the packing, but repeated leakage means the stem finish and packing set should be checked. Hunting or sluggish control is more often a positioner tuning, air supply or sizing issue than a valve fault, so check those first.
