Overview
The Masoneilan 28000 Series Varipak control valve is a compact, rugged control valve designed for severe service applications requiring precise throttling control. The 1 inch (25 mm) standard size is available, with 1/2 inch through 3/4 inch (15 through 20 mm) available on request.
The valve is offered in flanged (ANSI 150-1500), flangeless (ANSI 150-2500, UNI-DIN 10-400), and screwed (NPT 1/2 inch through 1 inch) versions, with body materials including stainless steel, monel, hastelloy C, and alloy 20.
Engineering & Design
The Varipak design integrates the actuator and valve body into a compact assembly with an integral spring diaphragm actuator, minimising installation space and reducing the piping and support requirements typical of conventional control valve packages.
The standard trim uses a full stellite needle plug for long service life in erosive and high-pressure-drop services, and a multistep anti-cavitation trim is available for liquid applications with severe cavitation potential. This construction provides reliable throttling control in demanding process environments.

The Masoneilan 28000 series Varipak valve is the compact globe control valve with the spring diaphragm actuator for the small control loops. The valve body is available in the 1/2 to 2 inch sizes with the flanged or the threaded connections, and the trim is selected for the process medium and the flow coefficient. The valve is used for the bypass, the injection and the pressure control applications of the plant.
The Varipak valve is fitted with the positioner for the accurate throttling and the travel feedback is provided with the limit switch. The valve characteristic is selected between the equal percentage and the linear for the control loop. The seat and the plug are available in the hardened materials for the erosive service. The spare trim set is stocked for the quick maintenance of the control valve without the valve removal.
