Technical Overview
The Masoneilan (Baker Hughes) 35002 Series, marketed by the manufacturer as the Camflex II, is an eccentric-plug rotary control valve designed for demanding throttling service across a wide range of process industries. Per Baker Hughes’ official technical specification (BHMN-35002-TS-19376E), the Camflex II is available in sizes from 1 in. through 16 in. (DN 25–400), with flangeless bodies rated to ASME Class 600 as standard, and flanged versions available in Class 150, 300, or 600 depending on size; a Globe Replacement (GR) variant covers 1 in. through 6 in. in Class 150/300/600 (or PN 10/16–25/40 to EN 558).
Temperature capability depends on seat selection: metal-seated trim is rated from −320°F to +750°F (−196°C to +400°C), while soft-seated trim is rated from −320°F to +450°F (−196°C to +232°C). The valve’s eccentric rotary plug design provides an inherently linear flow characteristic as standard, with high-rangeability trim options available for specialized applications. Standard trim delivers rangeability greater than 100:1, a Differential Velocity Device (DVD) option provides greater than 50:1, and a dedicated low-flow trim provides 15:1 — giving specifying engineers considerable flexibility to match the valve to a wide span of flow conditions without oversizing. Typical Cv values scale from roughly 0.4–2.8 on the smallest 1 in. size up to 94–3,650 on the largest 16 in. size, with a high-capacity 70-degree-rotation version extending Cv even further (up to roughly 5,250–5,980 on 16 in.).
Body materials include carbon steel, 316/316L stainless steel, Hastelloy C (1–4 in.), and chrome-moly options for higher-temperature or more corrosive service, while the plug/seat is available in solid Stellite No. 6 (1–4 in.) or 316L stainless steel with hardfaced seating (3–16 in.), with optional PTFE/PCTFE soft-seat inserts for tight shutoff applications.
