Measurement Principle

The Mark One valve handles up to 150 psig (10.3 barg) supply air and has the thrust to shut off against much higher fluid pressures. It is designed so that the spring, supply air pressure, and fluid pressure itself combine to produce an exceptionally tight shutoff, with a self-aligning seat ring further enhancing shutoff capability.

The Mark One valve is typically double top-stem guided and completely avoids contact between the plug and seat retainer—many globe valve maintenance problems can be traced to cage-guiding, where close metal-to-metal contact between the cage and plug often results in galling and sticking. Globe-style bodies feature smooth, streamlined, constant-area internal passages with no pockets, permitting high capacity with minimum turbulence, while nearly constant wall thickness provides lower weight and cost when manufactured in expensive stainless or alloy steels.

The Mark One is available in size ranges from 0.5 to 36 inches and pressure classes from 150 to 4500, with seating materials including 300 series and 400 series stainless steel, Alloy 6 and 21 overlay, Monel, Hastelloy, Inconel, PTFE soft seat, and other special alloys.
