Brand: JUMO
JUMO Wtrans B Wireless Head Transmitter
Description
Programmable head transmitter that sends temperature wirelessly
The JUMO Wtrans B (type 707060) is a programmable head transmitter with wireless data transmission. Used with a Wtrans receiver, it records temperatures from RTD probes or thermocouples at stationary or mobile points. It can also measure resistances up to 10 kOhm and voltages up to 50 mV, and currents up to 20 mA with external shunts. Customer-specific linearization is possible.
The unit consists of a transmitter with an integrated transmission unit and an antenna-battery housing. It fits form B terminal heads, which are not part of the delivery, and the antenna-battery housing connects to the head with an M20 x 1.5 screw thread. Mounting in customer-specific terminal heads is also possible.
The measured values travel to the receiver on 868.4 MHz, a frequency that is largely immune to external interference. The receiver displays them and provides digital values on the RS485 interface, analog outputs or relay alarms.
A configurable transmitter detection (ID of up to five digits) lets several Wtrans transmitters share one receiver without confusion, and battery status monitoring warns before the cell is empty. The battery housing can be opened for easy exchange.

Order code and scope of delivery
The order code is 707060 / input / output / extra code. Input 8 is the standard with default settings and input 9 is customer-specific programming, for which you state the transmitter ID, transmission interval, measuring range and probe type in plain text. Output 10 means radio frequency 868.4 MHz for Europe.
Delivery includes the head transmitter with fastening material, the antenna-battery housing with plug connections protected against polarity reversal, a lithium battery ready for use and an operating manual. The terminal head, form B, is not included.
The Wtrans B works with universal receivers from software version 03.01 and is part of the Wtrans series with the receiver 902931 and the other transmitters.
Measuring circuit monitoring recognizes out-of-range values, and for RTD probes also short circuit and wire break, while thermocouples are monitored for wire break and range. A linearization with value pairs in tabular form or fourth-order polynomials can be configured on the receiver for special sensors.
Accuracy figures depend on the sensor. A Pt100 is measured within +/-0.1 K between -100 and +200 °C and within +/-0.2 K over the full range up to 600 °C, while thermocouple accuracy is stated in percent of the maximum measuring range, for example +/-0.1 % for type K from -80 °C.
Where it helps
A wireless head transmitter saves cable runs to rotating parts, moving carriers, ovens on rails, temporary test setups and distant tanks. Battery status monitoring shows when to change the battery, and the battery can be exchanged easily.
Mount the antenna so that it has a clear path to the receiver. Mounting the antenna directly on the receiver reduces the range by about 40 percent compared with the wall antenna holder and antenna cable.
The shorter the transmission interval, the shorter the battery life, and very high or very low ambient temperatures have the same effect. Keep the default 15 s unless the process needs faster updates, and note that the transmitter is rated for -30 to +85 °C in the terminal head.
The Wtrans series data sheet lists the system partners: the universal receiver 902931, the RTD probe transmitter Wtrans T (902930), the humidity, temperature and CO2 probe Wtrans E01 (902928) and the pressure transmitter Wtrans p (402060). Planning a mixed system is easier when all transmitters report to one receiver.
For configuration, a setup program is available as an accessory for the laptop, and its OnlineChart function can record measured values on a PC. Specify the sensor type and range in plain text when you order the customer-specific input 9.

About brand
JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.
Where JUMO products are used
In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.
Ordering JUMO products: what we need
Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.
