Donaldson P-SRF C LifeTec Sterile Air Filter Element
Description
A stainless steel sterile element for compressed air and process gases
The Donaldson P-SRF C is the LifeTec sterile depth filter element for compressed air, carbon dioxide, fermentation air and technical gases. It is a pleated borosilicate depth medium, impregnated with PTFE, held between inner and outer liners and end caps of stainless steel 1.4301. Donaldson quotes retention of better than 99.99999995 percent at 0.2 and 0.02 micrometre and better than 99.999999991 percent at 3 nanometre, the latter in a DIN EN 1822 adopted test.
The element is aimed at dairies, breweries, food plants, pharmaceutical and chemical users who must deliver sterile air to a product contact point. Because the construction is all stainless steel it survives repeated steam sterilisation, and it can be steamed in either flow direction.

The flows apply at 7 bar(g); the sheet adds a pressure correction factor from 0.13 at 0 bar(g) to 2.13 at 16 bar(g). Element sizes from 03/10 to 30/50 are available with the uf-plug connection, and Code 7 (two 226 O-rings, bayonet with two locking tabs and a locating fin) is offered in 5, 10, 20 and 30 inch lengths.
Choosing C against the other P-SRF grades
P-SRF C is the standard sterile air grade for compressed air service. The P-SRF V version of the same construction is designed for tank venting where CIP reagents are present, and P-SRF X uses a hydrophobic PTFE membrane and is rated for far more sterilisation cycles. Select C where the application is continuous compressed air or gas, 12 months is a realistic element life, and steaming is done a few times a month.
The sheet also shows a de-wetting test after 30 minutes of 121 C steaming at 1 bar(g): flow of 140 Nm3/h at 2 bar absolute reaches normal operating conditions after about 20 seconds.

About brand
Donaldson is the American filtration company founded in Minnesota in 1915. It started when Frank Donaldson Sr. built an air cleaner for a tractor engine that kept failing in dusty fields. It is now headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota, and makes filters and filtration systems for engines, hydraulics, compressed air and gases, dust collection and process liquids.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Donaldson compressed air dryers and filters, gas filter housings, activated carbon adsorbers, hydraulic and fuel filtration and dust collectors, and supply them and their replacement elements in Oman and the GCC.
Donaldson company profile

Compressed air quality is set by ISO 8573-1 classes for particles, water and oil. A typical instrument air system uses a coarse filter and a fine coalescing filter before the dryer, an adsorption dryer for a low pressure dew point (for example -40 °C), and a dust filter after it. An activated carbon stage removes oil vapour where the air touches food or is breathed. Heatless dryers use some of the dry air to regenerate the desiccant, while heat-regenerated and zero-purge types save that air on larger systems.
Where Donaldson products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Donaldson filters and dryers are used for instrument and plant air in oil and gas, refining, power and desalination plants, for breathing air, in food and pharmaceutical production, on hydraulic systems and fuel storage, and in cement and bulk handling.
Ordering Donaldson products: what we need
