A two-stage RadialSeal air cleaner for heavy dust engines, 1,700 cfm
The Donaldson G200087 is the single-outlet SSG 20 Donaclone air cleaner. It is built for the worst dust conditions on construction and off-highway machines, with hundreds of Donaclone pre-cleaner tubes that spin the incoming air and separate up to 97 percent of the dust before it reaches the filter. The dust is ejected automatically through a Vacuator valve below the lower housing body.
The primary filter uses RadialSeal technology with urethane end caps, which removes the need to replace filter and cover gaskets. A safety filter fits inside the primary filter on all models, and Donaldson Blue replacement filters use Ultra-Web HD media for higher efficiency. The sheet lists scrapers, earth movers, graders and haul trucks as the ideal applications.

The SSG 20 models give 1,700 to 2,400 cfm and the SSG 29 models 2,580 to 4,800 cfm. G200088 and G290055 are sized for higher airflow.
Filters, service and options
Air cleaners ship with the standard life filters for scheduled maintenance. Donaldson Blue Ultra-Web extended service filters are the choice for restriction-based maintenance, and grab handles on the primary filter help to remove a loaded element. The Ultra-Web media is quoted at up to 99.999 percent efficiency on 0.01 gram of dust against 99.9 percent for cellulose on 1 gram.
The inlet has perforated holes on three sides and rain shrouds are available. A Dust Dumpa tube accessory simplifies routine inspections. The housing keeps the same overall package size as the older SRG axial seal air cleaner, so check mounting and the airflow of your engine before choosing a model; choose the lower restriction if two models fit. Add the restriction of ducting, elbows and any further pre-cleaning to the table value to obtain the total intake restriction, and check that it stays within the limit given by the engine maker.

Compressed air quality is set by ISO 8573-1 classes for particles, water and oil. A typical instrument air system uses a coarse filter and a fine coalescing filter before the dryer, an adsorption dryer for a low pressure dew point (for example -40 °C), and a dust filter after it. An activated carbon stage removes oil vapour where the air touches food or is breathed. Heatless dryers use some of the dry air to regenerate the desiccant, while heat-regenerated and zero-purge types save that air on larger systems.
