Camfil Hi-Cap CO60 G4 Coarse 60% Bag Prefilter 592x592x580-6
Description
A low-resistance G4 bag prefilter for air conditioning systems
The Camfil Hi-Cap CO60 592x592x580-6 is a six-pocket synthetic prefilter in a galvanised steel frame, G4 under EN 779 and Coarse 60% under ISO 16890. Camfil names its application as a prefilter for air conditioning and ventilation systems, and the printed initial pressure drop of 30 Pa at 3,400 m3/h is the lowest initial pressure drop among the bag filters in this Camfil set.
The conical pocket design and the large number of standard sizes are what Camfil highlights, along with a flat pressure drop curve; that makes the Hi-Cap a convenient first stage to protect finer ePM1 pockets or HEPA stages from the coarse sand and fibre that desert-region air carries.
Datasheet advantages
- Comprehensive range of standard sizes.
- Low initial pressure drop and a flat pressure drop curve.
- Innovative pocket design for optimum air distribution; conical pockets.
- Galvanised steel frame; synthetic media.

Pressure drop and final-resistance logic
The datasheet sets a recommended final pressure drop of initial plus 50 Pa for this type, which is 80 Pa here (derived). Because the filter is a prefilter, replacing it early at that low final resistance saves the downstream filters from dust load and costs little. Camfil prints no efficiency columns or energy class for the Hi-Cap, so the Coarse 60% class and the pressure drop are the numbers to use in a specification.
All sizes printed in the Hi-Cap table
| Type | Airflow m3/h | Pressure drop | Bags | Media m2 | Weight kg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CO60 592x592x580-6 | 3,400 | 30 Pa | 6 | 4.2 | 2.6 |
| CO60 490x592x580-5 | 2,800 | 30 Pa | 5 | 3.5 | 2.2 |

| CO60 490x592x360-5 | 2,800 | 40 Pa | 5 | 2.2 | 1.9 |
| CO60 287x592x360-3 | 1,700 | 40 Pa | 3 | 1.3 | 1.3 |
Other dimensions are available on request, as the datasheet notes, and all dimensions are nominal. The 360 mm deep versions carry about 38 percent less media (2.6 against 4.2 m2, derived) and 10 Pa more resistance.
How a prefilter earns its keep
In a multi-stage AHU, the first filter takes most of the dust by mass. A low-resistance coarse stage such as the Hi-Cap CO60 limits the dust that reaches the ePM1 or HEPA filter, so downstream filters last longer. The datasheet does not quantify that benefit, so treat it as general engineering practice and track your own change-out intervals.
For ordering, write the full type text CO60 592x592x580-6, the number of filters per bank and the holding frame or housing. If you plan to change depth, remember that conical pockets need room to expand when air flows.
Handling: bag filters should be transported in their cartons and installed with the pockets hanging in line with the airflow, which is general practice and not stated in the sheet.
Quick comparison with other Camfil pocket filters
At 3,400 m3/h the Hi-Cap has the least resistance of the four bag types in this set (30 Pa, against 60 Pa for the Basic-Flo 1070, 65 Pa for the Cam-Flo ES 0170 6-bag and 200 Pa for the City-Flo). The trade-off is the class: G4 Coarse 60% rather than an ePM1 or ePM10 rating, so it is a protection stage and not a comfort-air filter.
It is also the only one of the four with a lower recommended final pressure drop increment (initial plus 50 Pa instead of plus 100 Pa).
Installation notes
Front and side access housings and frames are available. Match the depth of the filter to the housing: the 580 mm unit will not replace a 360 mm one without checking the pocket space. Humidity up to 100 percent is permitted, but keep the filter out of direct water. See other filtration elements on the site.
Fitting and replacement notes
A G4 bag prefilter is the first stage in a multi-stage filter bank and is changed more often than the fine stages behind it. Fit it in the first filter frame of the unit with the pockets hanging vertically, record the pressure drop at commissioning and compare it at each service. Replacing prefilters on time reduces the load on the more expensive fine and HEPA stages.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full filter code, the quantity, the housing or frame type it must fit, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any prefilters or accessories, so that the complete filter set can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Filter class, airflow, pressure drop and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand
Camfil is a Swedish air filtration company that has worked on clean air since 1963 and is headquartered in Stockholm. It supplies filters and filtration systems for commercial and industrial air handling, cleanrooms, air pollution control, molecular contamination control and gas turbine and engine air intakes.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Camfil filters against the exact type code on the Camfil data sheet, for HVAC contractors, facility teams and plant engineers in Oman and the GCC.
Camfil product series
Bag filters include the Cam-Flo ES ePM1 70%, the Basic-Flo ePM10 70% economy bag, the Hi-Cap CO60 coarse prefilter and the City-Flo ePM1 85% bag with activated carbon for urban air. The 30/30 panel prefilter is a pleated ePM10 50% filter for the first stage of an air handling unit.
Compact and box filters include the Opakair F8 and Airopac F7 filters, and HEPA filters include the Absolute VG H13 compact filter and the Megalam ProSafe MX14 H14 panel for cleanrooms and controlled environments. The CamClose compact coalescing pre-filter protects gas turbine and engine intakes against salt and moisture.
Where Camfil filters are used
Air handling units in offices, malls, hospitals and hotels, cleanrooms and laboratories, pharmaceutical and food plants, data centres, and gas turbine and compressor air intakes, where dust and humidity in the Gulf climate shorten filter life.
Ordering Camfil filters: what we need
Send the Camfil type code, or the filter class (ISO 16890 ePM rating or EN 1822 HEPA class), the face size and depth, the number of pockets for bag filters, the frame material, the airflow and the quantity. A photo of the label on the old filter usually gives all of this.
