Camfil City-Flo ePM1 85% Carbon Bag Filter 592x592x534-10
Description
Particles and odours in one filter stage
The Camfil City-Flo 0185 592x592x534-10 combines particle filtration and a broad-spectrum activated carbon layer in ten glass fibre and carbon pockets. Camfil describes it as a two-in-one solution that removes solid and gaseous contaminants in one filter stage and can upgrade existing installations, with the application stated as particle and odour removal in hospitals, offices, airports and similar buildings.
This is the F9 / ePM1 85% version of the product, at 592 x 592 x 534 mm and 3,400 m3/h. Gulf city-centre towers and airports see traffic exhaust, ozone and sulphur compounds along with dust, which is the type of low-to-moderate gaseous load the datasheet says the carbon is meant for.
How the media is described
The datasheet says the filter uses a highly effective broad-spectrum carbon layer with a Rapid Adsorption Dynamics (RAD) mechanism, designed to be efficient against the multiple chemicals typically present in low or moderate concentrations in city-centre buildings and other locations. The unit is classified according to ISO 10121-3 and mounted in a robust galvanised header frame.

How to read the ISO 10121 entries
Four gas columns are printed: ozone, SO2, NO2 and toluene. The sheet prints a class letter group and a number for each, shown above as HD 85, MD 55, LD 85 and MD 80. The abbreviations are not defined on the datasheet page we fetched, so treat the string as printed and ask for the ISO 10121-3 test report before using it in a design specification.
Temperature and humidity limits are tighter than for the plain bag filters: 50 degC and 70 percent relative humidity. Do not place the filter immediately downstream of a cooling coil that can carry droplets, and keep it away from hot-gas sources.
Sizes and classes in the City-Flo table
| Type | Class | Airflow | Initial pressure drop | Media area | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0160 592x592x534-10 | F7 / ePM1 60% | 3,400 m3/h | 140 Pa | 6.2 m2 | 6 kg |
| 0160 490x592x534-8 | F7 / ePM1 60% | 2,800 m3/h | 140 Pa | 5 m2 | 4.6 kg |
| 0185 592x592x534-10 (this page) | F9 / ePM1 85% | 3,400 m3/h | 200 Pa | 6.2 m2 | 6 kg |
| 0185 490x592x534-8 | F9 / ePM1 85% | 2,800 m3/h | 200 Pa | 5 m2 | 4.6 kg |
| 0185 287x592x534-5 | F9 / ePM1 85% | 1,700 m3/h | 200 Pa | 3.1 m2 | 3.5 kg |
Going from the 60% to the 85% version adds 60 Pa (derived) at the same airflow and size; the gas performance entries are identical on both lines.
What to confirm before ordering a carbon bag filter
Ask which gases matter on the site. Carbon filters are sized to the gas, concentration and required life, and the datasheet itself limits the product to low or moderate concentrations. For heavy industrial fumes, such as sour gas near a petrochemical complex, a bag filter of this type is not the right tool;
Provide the existing housing depth (534 mm), the airflow per filter (3,400 m3/h for the 592 x 592 size) and the room or building use. State whether you are replacing a particle-only F9 filter, since the City-Flo adds 6 kg of weight per element against the lighter plain bag types, and the additional pressure drop has to be absorbed by the fan.
Request the ISO 10121-3 report for the 0185 class, and confirm storage conditions: as general practice, keep carbon elements sealed and dry until installation.
Compared with plain F9 bag filters
A plain F9 bag filter of the same size would be limited to particle control; the City-Flo adds the carbon layer for odour and gas removal in the same stage, and Camfil proposes it for upgrading existing 2-in-1 installations. The cost of that capability in the datasheet numbers is a higher initial pressure drop (200 Pa against 60 to 120 Pa for the bag filters in this set) and a lower temperature and humidity limit (50 degC and 70 percent).
For project use, ask for energy information separately: the sheet has no kWh per year or energy class for this type.
Selection and operating notes
The recommended final pressure drop is 300 Pa (200 + 100, derived), which is higher than most bag filters, so check that the AHU fan has the margin. Because carbon loads with gases, an end-of-life decision is not set only by the pressure drop; the datasheet does not give a carbon life figure, so base replacement on supplier guidance and site gas monitoring.
Front and side access housings and frames are available. See other filtration elements.
Fitting and replacement notes
The carbon layer adsorbs gases until it is saturated, after which odour removal falls even when the particle stage still has capacity, so plan replacement from the odour performance as well as the pressure drop. Handle the filter carefully to avoid dust from the carbon, store it dry in its packing, and confirm that the housing accepts the 534 mm depth.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full filter code, the quantity, the housing or frame type it must fit, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any prefilters or accessories, so that the complete filter set can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Filter class, airflow, pressure drop and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand
Camfil is a Swedish air filtration company that has worked on clean air since 1963 and is headquartered in Stockholm. It supplies filters and filtration systems for commercial and industrial air handling, cleanrooms, air pollution control, molecular contamination control and gas turbine and engine air intakes.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Camfil filters against the exact type code on the Camfil data sheet, for HVAC contractors, facility teams and plant engineers in Oman and the GCC.
Camfil product series
Bag filters include the Cam-Flo ES ePM1 70%, the Basic-Flo ePM10 70% economy bag, the Hi-Cap CO60 coarse prefilter and the City-Flo ePM1 85% bag with activated carbon for urban air. The 30/30 panel prefilter is a pleated ePM10 50% filter for the first stage of an air handling unit.
Compact and box filters include the Opakair F8 and Airopac F7 filters, and HEPA filters include the Absolute VG H13 compact filter and the Megalam ProSafe MX14 H14 panel for cleanrooms and controlled environments. The CamClose compact coalescing pre-filter protects gas turbine and engine intakes against salt and moisture.
Where Camfil filters are used
Air handling units in offices, malls, hospitals and hotels, cleanrooms and laboratories, pharmaceutical and food plants, data centres, and gas turbine and compressor air intakes, where dust and humidity in the Gulf climate shorten filter life.
Ordering Camfil filters: what we need
Send the Camfil type code, or the filter class (ISO 16890 ePM rating or EN 1822 HEPA class), the face size and depth, the number of pockets for bag filters, the frame material, the airflow and the quantity. A photo of the label on the old filter usually gives all of this.
