Brand:

Druck DPI 880 Multi-Function Calibrator for Electrical, Temperature and Pressure

Description

One hand-held calibrator for loops, temperature probes and pressure modules

The Druck DPI 880 is an ultra-compact multi-function calibrator that measures, sources and simulates mA, mV, V, ohms, frequency and pulses, reads and simulates eight RTD types and twelve thermocouple types, captures switch values and provides 24 V loop power. With a plug-in IDOS pressure module it becomes a pressure calibrator as well.

Useful field functions listed in the datasheet include simultaneous dual readings (input and output on one screen), programmable step and ramp outputs, an adjustable nudge output for setting trips and valve positioners, automatic switch test, a pressure leak test, a switchable 250 ohm HART loop resistor and automatic detection of 2, 3 and 4 wire RTDs. A thermocouple cold-junction design is claimed to keep error to 0.2 degrees C for a 30 degrees C ambient change.

The datasheet pages still carry the earlier GE branding, so expect GE or Druck marks on older documentation.

Ordering codes and accessories

Order the model DPI 880 and list accessories as separate items. Each unit is supplied with batteries, calibration certificate, user guide and electrical test leads. IDOS UPM pressure modules are ordered separately by type (S standard or P premier), range, reference (G/D, G or A) and G 1/8 female or 1/8 NPT female connection.

Accessories in the datasheet are the IO800A soft carrying case, IO800B belt clip with wrist strap and bench stand, IO800D RS232 serial lead for IDOS and the IO800E data logging upgrade with RS232 lead. Calibration, training and extended warranty services are listed as separately ordered supporting services.

What to confirm before ordering

Decide which signals the technicians must handle: loop and switch work only needs the base unit, temperature work needs probes, and pressure work needs one or more IDOS modules whose range, media and accuracy grade must match the device under test. Ask whether the data logging upgrade is required.

About brand

Druck is a pressure measurement and calibration brand founded in 1972 and based in Leicester, United Kingdom, now part of Crane Company. Its range covers pressure sensors and transducers, portable pressure calibrators and controllers, hand pumps and multifunction documenting calibrators used to test and maintain process instruments.

Pressure calibration and test equipment

Druck handheld calibrators, hand pumps and bench pressure controllers are used to generate, control and measure pressure while checking transmitters, gauges, switches and safety valves in the field or in the workshop.

Pressure sensors and transmitters

Druck transducers and transmitters, including miniature and subsea designs, provide pressure signals for industrial, marine and offshore monitoring applications.
