Automatic and hybrid pressure control in one portable base station

The Druck PV624 is a portable pressure controller that works with the Genii advanced modular calibration system. In hybrid mode it asks the user to pump a portion of the pressure change by hand, then automatically isolates the pump and finishes with fully automatic generation to the set point. In ultra-low ranges it works fully automatically and controls differential pressure up to +/-55 mbar into a 20 mL volume.

The PV624 connects physically or, with the B1 option, by Bluetooth to a DPI 620G electrical calibrator, and accepts interchangeable PM620, PM620LP and PM620T pressure modules by a hand-tight screw fit without tools. Changing the module changes the range, from 2.5 mbar full scale up to 20 bar. A built-in barometer allows modules to be switched between gauge and pseudo-absolute reference, with limits stated in the datasheet.

Once at set point the controller keeps generating and venting to cancel adiabatic effects and small leaks. The unit is not compatible with intrinsically safe DPI620-IS or PM620-IS products. The related Druck DPI 620G Genii is listed on this site.

Ordering and what is supplied

The model code is PV624 plus a connectivity suffix: PV624-B0 for the standard electrical connection and PV624-B1 for the standard connection plus Bluetooth. The standard package is the base station, shoulder strap, AC power supply, rechargeable battery pack, quick start and safety manual, G1/8 female and 1/8 NPT female adapters and a dirt and moisture trap.

The DPI 620G calibrator and the PM620 pressure module are separate items. Accessories include carry case IO620-CASE-3, a spare battery pack IO624-Battery, desktop battery chargers by country, 1 m to 3 m pneumatic hoses rated 35 bar, adapter sets in BSP, NPT and metric, a low pressure tube and connector kit, and an external low pressure pump IO624-LP-PUMP.

What to confirm before ordering

Choose the PM620 module range to suit the highest and lowest pressure points, confirm whether Bluetooth is permitted and wanted, and check that no intrinsically safe equipment is involved. Estimate the test volume, since settling time is specified for 15 mL and 50 mL volumes.
