Finder 7S.23.9.024.0210 Forcibly Guided Safety Relay 24 V DC
Description
A forcibly guided relay module for SIL 2 safety circuits
The Finder 7S.23.9.024.0210 is a relay module with forcibly guided contacts for safety applications, in a housing 17.5 mm wide for 35 mm rail. It has two normally open contacts and one normally closed contact, a 24 V DC coil and an LED showing coil status. Finder classes the 7S.23 as a Type A forcibly guided contact relay under EN 61810-3 and evaluates it to SIL 2 under EN 61508, for use in functional safety applications up to SIL 2 under EN 62061 and up to performance level d under EN 13849-1.
The contacts are silver-nickel with gold plating, which suits both the 10 A rating and the low minimum switching load of 60 mW (5 V / 5 mA). Gold flashing helps when the same relay sometimes switches small signal loads in a safety loop. The contacts are cadmium free.

How forcibly guided contacts are used
In a forcibly guided relay the normally open and normally closed contacts are mechanically linked, so a welded NO contact keeps the NC contact from closing. The NC contact is therefore wired into the feedback or start-up check of the safety circuit, and the two NO contacts switch the load or a downstream contactor. Whether a given circuit reaches SIL 2 or PL d depends on the complete architecture, diagnostics and the B10d values for the application, so the module is one part of a safety function rather than a safety function on its own.
Selection and installation notes
The coil of this version is 24 V DC; the datasheet also lists 12, 48 and 110 V DC versions of the 7S.23, so confirm the control voltage before ordering. Check the 10 A contact rating against the real load and the AC15 figure of 5 A at 230 V AC for coils. Allow the 17.5 mm module width on the rail and keep conductor sizes within the box-clamp limits above.

About brand
Finder is an Italian manufacturer of relays, timers, power supplies and other electromechanical and electronic devices, founded in 1954 and headquartered in Almese, in the Susa Valley of Piedmont. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Finder modular contactors, safety relays and DIN rail power supplies for control panels, building services and machine automation.
Relay, contactor and power supply families
The range runs from step relays and modular contactors to safety relays with forcibly guided contacts and switch mode power supplies for 35 mm rail. Each series has a datasheet with ordering codes, coil data, contact ratings, derating curves and approvals, so a part can be specified or replaced by its full type code rather than by series name alone.
Ordering Finder products: what we need
Quote the complete ordering code, including coil voltage and contact variant, together with the quantity, the supply voltage and frequency of the installation and any approvals the project requires. With that information the matching Finder version can be confirmed against the datasheet before a quotation is issued.
