Finder 72.01.9.024.0000 Liquid Level Control Relay
Description
Level control for conductive liquids with adjustable sensitivity
The 72.01.9.024.0000 is a level control relay for conductive liquids from the Finder 72 series. It senses the liquid through simple rod electrodes using a low alternating voltage and switches a 16 A changeover contact, so it can start and stop a pump or open and close a filling valve without a float switch. Supply is 24 V DC and the housing is 35 mm DIN rail mounted.
Sensitivity is adjustable from 5 to 150 kilohm, so the relay can be set for clean water, process water or conductive solutions of different salinity. A switch selects between filling and emptying control and between a short (0.5 s) and long (7 s) run-on delay, which prevents the output from chattering on a rippled liquid surface. Three electrodes give control between a minimum and a maximum level, and one electrode gives control about a single level.

Electrodes, variants and isolation
The 72.01 needs electrodes: the Finder range lists suspended electrodes for conductive liquids (072.01.06 with a 6 m cable and 072.01.15 with a 15 m cable), and the datasheet gives the wiring for filling and emptying with two or three electrodes (B1 maximum, B2 minimum, B3 common). The 72 series also includes the 72.11 with fixed 150 kilohm sensitivity, the 72.42 priority change relay and the 72.51 modular level control relay with window function.
Important for 24 V DC models: the datasheet states that there is no electrical isolation between electrodes and supply on the 24 V DC types (72.x1.9.024.0000). For SELV applications a non-grounded SELV supply must be used, and on a grounded PELV supply none of the electrodes may be grounded. The 24 V AC versions and the 72.51 use an internal isolating transformer and do not have this restriction.
What to confirm before ordering
Confirm the supply voltage (24 V DC for this code; 24 V AC, 110 to 125 V, 230 to 240 V and 400 V versions exist), the liquid conductivity range, the cable length to the electrodes and the electrode material compatible with the liquid. The relay is for conductive liquids only; it does not suit oils or distilled water. Related items are listed in the automation accessories category.

About brand
Finder is an Italian manufacturer of relays, timers, power supplies and other electromechanical and electronic devices, founded in 1954 and headquartered in Almese, in the Susa Valley of Piedmont. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Finder modular contactors, safety relays and DIN rail power supplies for control panels, building services and machine automation.
Relay, contactor and power supply families
The range runs from step relays and modular contactors to safety relays with forcibly guided contacts and switch mode power supplies for 35 mm rail. Each series has a datasheet with ordering codes, coil data, contact ratings, derating curves and approvals, so a part can be specified or replaced by its full type code rather than by series name alone.
Ordering Finder products: what we need
Quote the complete ordering code, including coil voltage and contact variant, together with the quantity, the supply voltage and frequency of the installation and any approvals the project requires. With that information the matching Finder version can be confirmed against the datasheet before a quotation is issued.
