Brand:

Cortem SLED-ME Ex LED Floodlight for Zone 1 and 2

Description

Ex db eb LED floodlight to replace discharge lamp floodlights

The Cortem SLED-ME series are LED floodlights with a square-shaped beam for hazardous areas in oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, offshore and onshore plants, oil loading jetties and perimeter lighting. Cortem positions them as replacements for traditional rectangular floodlights that use sodium vapour or metal halide discharge lamps.

The finned aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the LED plate, so more light output can be installed without LED deterioration. The flat tempered glass resists shock and high temperatures, and the Ex e terminal compartment allows fast loop-in, loop-out connection.

Electrical data in the datasheet include a rated current of 559 mA for the SLED-ME-250120 and 2150 mA for the SLED-ME-600500 at 230 Vac, EMC testing to EN 55015 and EN 61547, and over-voltage protection that ranges from 2 kV to 10 kV depending on the model. The luminaires are listed as exempt from photobiological risk under IEC/EN 62471.

SLED-ME models

Seven codes cover three body sizes. The table lists the power consumption at 230 Vac, the luminous flux and viewing angle from the datasheet.

Code Power Luminous flux Viewing angle Colour temperature Weight (kg)
SLED-ME-250120 122 W 12,387 lm 60° ~5700 K 13.5
SLED-ME-250180 171 W 19,340 lm 120° ~5000 K 13.5
SLED-ME-400200 186 W 22,181 lm 120° ~5000 K 20.3
SLED-ME-400300 290 W 36,418 lm 120° ~5000 K 20.3
SLED-ME-600300 290 W 30,799 lm 60° ~5700 K 32.4
SLED-ME-600400 400 W 52,368 lm 120° ~5000 K 32.4
SLED-ME-600500 500 W 60,658 lm 120° ~5000 K 32.4

Temperature classes and selection

The temperature class depends on the model and ambient temperature. For example, the SLED-ME-250120 is T6 with a 85 degrees C maximum surface temperature at 40 degrees C ambient and T5 at 60 degrees C, while the SLED-ME-600400 is T5 at 40 degrees C and T4 at 50 degrees C. Always match the class to the gas and the site ambient, and check the IIB or IIB+H2 table for the ambient range.

Select the model from the required illuminance, mounting height and beam angle. Cortem provides LDT and IES photometric files for lighting design software. Use the fast connection plug kit or a certified cable gland on the M20 or M25 entry, and observe the maximum conductor size of 4 square mm in the Ex e terminal housing.

About brand

Cortem is an Italian manufacturer of electrical equipment for environments with a risk of explosion and fire. Cortem S.p.A., the main company of Cortem Group, was founded in 1968 in Villesse, Italy, and the group today supplies industrial plants, offshore platforms, refineries and shipyards with certified products for hazardous areas.

Explosion-protected product range

The catalogue covers junction boxes in aluminium, stainless steel and GRP, control and command stations, metal cable glands and connectors, plugs and sockets, LED floodlights, linear and high-bay luminaires, hand lamps, signalling and obstruction lights, and weatherproof series equipment. Products are certified to ATEX and IECEx, with UKEX and other schemes available according to the model.

Applications and documentation

Typical sectors named by the company include oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical plants, mining, shipbuilding and traditional and green energy. Each product family has a datasheet with the marking, zones, temperature classes and certificate numbers, so the equipment can be matched to a hazardous area classification before ordering.

Sourcing through Seven Star LLC

Seven Star LLC supplies Cortem products to customers in Oman and the GCC and quotes against the model code, zone and certificate requirement.
