Cortem XLF Ex d Xenon Strobe Obstruction Light

Description

Ex d xenon strobe obstruction lights for stacks, towers, cranes and jetties

The Cortem XLF series are flameproof xenon obstruction lighting fixtures with a stroboscopic flash of about 30 flashes per minute, available as single or double fixtures. Cortem names chimneys, towers, smokestacks, bell towers, cranes, bridges, radio and television masts, power line pylons, wind turbines and telecommunication antennas, with particular use in the petrochemical and oil industries. The small size and low profile of the body give low wind resistance and limit the deposit of industrial dust.

The body is low-copper aluminium alloy with a borosilicate glass globe that passes a 4 joule shock test; a Fresnel lens is not fitted. Fixtures are available clear or with a polycarbonate red diffuser, and other diffuser colours can be ordered. This series is the xenon strobe option alongside the LED XLFE medium and low intensity obstruction lights already listed on this site.

Accessories and what to confirm before ordering

Options include NEVB2NB (armoured) or NAVB2NB (unarmoured) barrier cable glands, a conduit or pendant mounting model (XLFS-1V1101), a special Ex de marking version (XLFE-1V1101), an Ex or IP66 control panel with electronic modules, ISO 7-1 gas threads, and orange, yellow, green or blue diffusers. Spare parts include the glass globe G50-0389FCM, coloured diffusers (TRASP series) and a silicone O-ring.

Confirm the required flash energy and light colour with the obstruction-lighting rules that apply to the structure, the supply voltage, mounting (structure, conduit or pendant), single or double head, and the cable entry arrangement. Obstruction-lighting regulations differ by country and are not stated in the datasheet.
