Uvex silv-Air e 7330 8787330 FFP3 R D Preformed Respirator

Description

The Uvex silv-Air e 7330 8787330 is a particle-filtering preformed face mask in protection class FFP3 to EN 149:2001 + A1:2009, with an exhalation valve and two extra filters with inhalation valves for low breathing resistance. It carries the R mark (reusable, tested for re-use, including in the second shift) and the D mark (dolomite dust clogging test passed), which is relevant in dusty environments.

The mask weighs only 36 g and uses a three-chamber climazone system for a cooler inside climate, a four-point textile headband, an adjustable metal nose clip, and a soft all-round PU foam sealing lip with a nasal recess. Each box contains three masks. Respirators are PPE category III, as the datasheet states.

Key features from the datasheet

The datasheet lists a particle-filtering cup-shape mask with exhalation valve, protection level FFP3, a three-chamber climazone system, an optimised shape, a four-point headband for an individual and secure fit, a flexible adjustable nose clip, an exhalation valve that reduces breathing resistance and heat and moisture build-up, two extra filters with inhalation valve for comfort, a breathable silv-Air outer material and an ultra-soft sealing lip. The mask fulfils the requirements of reusability (R) and the dolomite test (D).

Selection and areas of use

The datasheet gives examples of areas of use, stated as examples only: woodworking, hard wood, chromium, asbestos (short periods), stainless steel, lead, welding, dust that contains beryllium, arsenic, cadmium or cobalt, medical waste, fungal spores, legionella, bacteria, viruses, enzymes and nanoparticles. It warns that selection must be made by a competent person and that the data sheet does not replace a detailed risk assessment. FFP3 masks are particle filters; they do not protect against gases or vapors, for which a gas filter or supplied-air system is required.

Fit and use

The page notes that respirators are not suitable for people with beards, sideburns or deep scars near the seals, because the seal depends on skin contact. Fit the mask, form the nose clip, and carry out a seal check each time. Replace the mask when breathing resistance increases, when it is damaged or contaminated, or after the shift where the user cannot clean it. Clean the outside only with uvex cleaning spray.

Applications in GCC industry

Fine dust and mist exposures arise in abrasive blasting preparation, grinding and welding of stainless steel, insulation removal, sandy site conditions, catalyst and chemical powder handling and maintenance at industrial plants. The exhalation valve reduces heat build-up, which matters in hot climates, but local regulations and the site respiratory protection program decide the required class and fit testing.

Selection and installation notes

A respirator protects only when it seals to the face. Check that the mask is the right size, shave the sealing area where required, fit the headband and nose clip as shown in the instructions, and carry out a fit check each time it is put on. Respiratory protection must be selected against the contaminant and its concentration in the workplace risk assessment, and replaced when breathing becomes difficult, the mask is damaged or contaminated. Store it clean and dry in its pack.
