Speakman Eyesaver SEF-1000 Laboratory Faucet with Eyewash
Description
The Speakman Eyesaver SEF-1000 combines a fully working laboratory faucet spout with an independently operated emergency eyewash in a single deck-mounted fitting. The patented body has two separate water channels, one for the faucet and one for the eyewash, so the emergency water arrives at a tepid temperature when the eyewash is supplied from a tempered source. The spout swivels, the brass body is finished in polished chrome, and a lift-activated eyewash handle is large enough to be found quickly.
It is the type of fitting installed on laboratory benches, sinks in water testing laboratories, workshops and first-aid rooms, where a full eyewash station would take too much space but flushing equipment is still needed beside the work area.

Selection and ordering guide
The sheet covers several Eyesaver models, so confirm the exact code and the faucet center (the page lists 6 to 6 centers and a single hole). A tepid water supply is expected for the eyewash; Speakman recommends its STW-370 thermostatic mixing valve, which is not included, and says to flush the tepid supply into a bucket for one minute before connecting. If shut-off valves are installed in the eyewash supply, the sheet says provision must be made to prevent unauthorized shut off. Inlet supplies are not included.
Installation notes
Shut off the water, remove any existing faucet spout, clean the mounting surface, check the rubber gasket and lower the spout into position, feeding the hoses one at a time through the hole. From below fit the rubber washer, metal washer and nut, verify the swivel sweep and tighten the mounting nut screws. Assemble the tee to the faucet inlet, connect the flex hoses to the existing valve bodies, and connect the tepid water to the eyewash inlet. The valve bodies and handles are not included. Clean with a soft cloth only: harsh chemicals and abrasives can damage the finish and void the warranty. ANSI Z358.1 requires weekly testing and annual inspection, per the sheet.
Applications in GCC industry
This faucet fits laboratory benches in refinery QC and petrochemical labs, desalination and wastewater test laboratories, university and hospital labs, and workshops with a sink. Because the eyewash is plumbed from the building water line, the water temperature in hot climates needs control; the tepid-water recommendation in the sheet and a mixing valve address that, and the site HSE team should define the limits.
Before ordering, confirm the deck thickness, which the page limits to a maximum of 2 in, and the supply pressure of 20 to 80 psi given on the sheet. Keep the 1.2 gpm Slim Air aerator repair group RPG05-111352 in mind as the listed spare for the faucet side of the fitting.
Installation and selection notes
Deck-mount the fitting on a bench or sink with the two water supplies connected correctly, one for the faucet and one for the eyewash, as shown in the installation drawing. Test the eyewash regularly, record the test and keep the area around it clear. Where tepid water is required by the site standard, plan a tempered supply.
Information needed for a quotation
