Mapa Professional KryTech 586 Cut Level D Gloves

Description

A high-risk cut glove for intricate handling in reasonably clean areas

Mapa KryTech 586 is a polyurethane-coated, 13 gauge knitted glove on a seamless liner of HDPE fibres. Mapa Professional rates it as a high risk, ISO D cut protection glove for intricate handling in reasonably clean environments. The ISO 13997 result is 18.6 N (1896 g), and the EN 388 code is 4X43D.

It is a Category 2 glove with a ventilated back, a knitted cuff and a blue textile indicator that helps supervisors identify the cut level in the workplace. The sheet also lists it as washable up to three times at 60 C, which extends its life and cuts waste. The glove contains traces of DMF within occupational exposure limits and is silicone free.

Picking a cut level and a size

EN 388 4X43D reads abrasion 4, blade cut X (not tested by the coup method because the ISO 13997 method applies), tear 4 and puncture 3. Level D at 18.6 N sits in the middle of the A to F scale and covers handling of sharp parts, sheet edges and glass; for the thinnest sharp stock or for very high risk, compare a level E or F glove.

The 24 to 30 cm length changes with size, and sizes run from 6 to 11. The coating is polyurethane, which is a dry-grip coating; for oily parts compare the KryTech 600 with its nitrile Grip and Proof coating. Order by size and by pack: one pair per bag, 12 pairs per bag or 48 pairs per carton.

Washing and cleaning limits

The sheet allows three washes at 60 C, see its laundering and drying conditions. After each wash check that the blue indicator thread, the coating and the cuff are intact. Wash cycles do not restore a worn coating.

Do not use the glove near rotating machinery where the knit can be pulled in, and avoid contact with hot parts. The glove carries no heat or chemical protection mark on the sheet.

Regulatory points on the sheet: the product is not classified hazardous under Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and has no substance of very high concern above 0.1% or any annex XVII substance under REACH 1907/2006. The EU type certificate is 0075/014/162/01/19/0209, issued by notified body 0075 (CTC, Lyon). Sizes follow the EN ISO 21420 numbering, where the size number approximates the hand circumference in inches, so a size 9 suits a hand of about 229 mm circumference (general standard information).

Sharp-part handling and maintenance

Mapa lists the automotive industry, construction (roofers, tilers, glaziers), the plastics industry and local authorities (technical maintenance). Tasks include finishing sharp parts, handling metal parts and sheet metal, handling and fitting windows, post-injection material removal and maintenance work with a risk of cuts. In industrial plants, the same task profile applies to panel shops, fabrication and insulation work.

Selection and care notes

Cut level D protects against sharp materials in clean, dry handling, but it does not protect against machine blades or heavy impact. Compare the EN 388 code with the task, wash within the limits on the label and replace the glove when the coating wears through. Use the blue indicator to supervise that the right glove is used for the job.
