Brand:

Uvex x-fit 2112001 Disposable Foam Earplugs SNR 37

Description

The Uvex x-fit 2112001 is a disposable polyurethane foam earplug in bright lime, supplied without a cord and bagged in pairs, 200 pairs per retail unit. It is a single-use plug with an SNR of 37 dB (H 36, M 35, L 34), so it is intended for very loud environments. The patented x-grip shape reduces contact pressure in the ear canal and makes the plug much easier to insert and remove.

The datasheet describes a sealed surface that keeps foreign bodies from penetrating, excellent voice recognition and a soft foam that stays comfortable for long wear, with a maximum wearing time of one working day. The bright colour is easy to see in production areas for housekeeping checks.

Key features from the datasheet

The datasheet lists an ergonomically shaped disposable plug, bright lime colour for visibility, x-grip for easy insertion and removal, best suitability for very loud environments, a sealed surface that prevents foreign bodies from penetrating, excellent voice recognition, and soft foam for comfort. Signal-hearing additions are marked for railway superstructure work (S), road traffic (V), general warning signals (W) and locomotive drivers (E1).

Reading the attenuation data

The table gives the mean attenuation at each frequency, the standard deviation and the assumed protective value (APV, mean minus one standard deviation). The SNR of 37 dB is a single-number rating, and real-world protection is lower than the laboratory value if the plugs are not inserted properly. The H, M and L values help to select protection for high, medium and low frequency noise, and the highest attenuation in the table is at 4000 Hz (45.9 dB mean).

Selection and ordering guide

2112001 is the uncorded article in the 200-pair bag set. If operators lose plugs, the corded article 2112.010 is available, and refill formats suit dispensers at entrances. For higher noise levels or intermittent use, earmuffs such as the uvex K1 on this site (SNR 28 dB) are alternatives, and plugs and muffs can be combined where the risk assessment demands. Always match the protector to the measured noise level and keep the wearing instructions at the dispenser.

Applications in GCC industry

Foam plugs are widely issued at compressor and turbine halls, pump houses, drilling and workover sites, workshops and fabrication yards. The datasheet notes a sealed surface that keeps foreign bodies from penetrating. Provide dispensers at the entrance and train workers to roll, insert and hold the plug until it expands.

Care and use

The plug is single-use and should be discarded after one working day or if it becomes dirty or damaged. Wash hands before insertion. The datasheet header carries the date 12.09.2024; check the current revision when specifying.

For stock planning, the retail unit holds 200 pairs, so a shift issuing one pair per worker per day can be calculated directly from the head count, because the datasheet limits each pair to a maximum wearing time of one working day. Order the corded article 2112.010 separately if cords are wanted.

Selection and use notes

The earplug works only if it is inserted correctly: roll it, insert it and hold it until it expands. Check the attenuation against the noise level measured at the site, and use new plugs each time because these are single-use. Keep the packaging clean and do not share plugs.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand

Uvex is a German family-owned safety and sports group based in Fürth, Bavaria. Philipp M. Winter founded the Optische Industrie-Anstalt Philipp M. Winter in 1926, making safety goggles by hand in a small workshop in Poppenreuth. His son Rainer Winter created the uvex name in 1956 from the lens quality mark 'UltraViolet EXcluded'. The group marked its centenary in 2026 and is led by the third generation of the Winter family.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Uvex PPE, each with the product datasheet attached, for oil and gas, petrochemical, power and construction buyers in Oman and the GCC.
